Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site — Attraction in New Madrid

A really nice house, that is extremely well preserved, with a lot of the original furniture. And, the furniture is great. The tour guide was very well informed and told me about the house, the times in which it was built, the family that built and owned it, and the furniture. We enjoyed an informative tour of the old mansion. It's been lovingly maintained. The tour guide had some great bits of info and was very open to questions about the house, the family that lived there, and the property. The sunny sewing room was my favorite. I didn't tour inside but stopped to check out the outdoor activities offered for children on this day. They had seceral old time games and activities set up for children to do. The staff was very friendly and informative.
