Hands down one of THE BEST family nights we’ve ever had. We went to their holiday hoedown and what a time was had by all! We enjoyed the hayride around the property where we got to see all the Christmas decor and lights. It ran pretty frequently and it was unlimited rides. They have an adorable souvenir shop that sells s’mores kits for cheap… Make sure to get those early because they will sell out! They also have a live fire pit where you can roast your marshmallows and make your s’mores. They have cute store fronts for nice photo-ops and also an area where Santa was to visit with the children. They have a pre-dinner show at the beautiful chapel with a very talented cast. The chapel was heated and comfy during the cold winter days. The main attraction was the chuckwagon dinner fit for a cowboy! Absolutely delicious- not one thing was bad and there was PLENTY to go around - loved making the line for dinner service and sitting with complete strangers enjoying a hearty meal. The after dinner shower was extremely entertaining and my kids loved it! Truly an experience of a time long gone by that anyone will enjoy. Cannot recommend it more! We will definitely be back. The whole family is so talented as well as the rest of the musicians. A true 10/10 experience.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND for a Christmas evening activity. The entire White Mountain Christmas event is worth it. My family of five plus two guests attended Christmas evening, and we all enjoyed our time. They had a little western town setup decorated with Christmas lights and an antique car hayride to take you around the property. There were multiple fire pits to stay warm before the main dinner hall opened. There was a small chapel where they put on two fiddle shows, so authentic and western! There was a very nicely dressed Santa and Mrs. Claus inside a heated shed to take family pics. We had dinner at 7 pm and the staff was so efficient serving, we didn’t wait at all. The food was delicious, we had beans, brisket or chicken, applesauce and spice cake, a biscuit, and a drink. You can get seconds, if you’d like. They served coffee once everyone sat down. An hour after dinner, there was a show on the main stage. So worth it if you’re in the area. If you think you’re going to go, buy tickets early. They sell out fast!

A fun experience, but there is definitely some sexism at the dinner - all women were served the super tiny baked potatoes and all the men were given the full-sized and large potatoes. I saw it happening, and heard other women all down my row of picnic benches talking about it too. We women paid the same ticket price and are just as much of adults... why would the man (employee) serving the potatoes think it's ok to give us females the super tiny potatoes that are 1/4th the size of a regular potato. And sure they say you can go back for seconds, but how messed up to make all of the women wait until the entire opera house is served, while our food is getting cold, so we can go back and get another tiny potato to eat with our meal. I saw 3 couples where the guy was giving half of his large potato to his female partner. I cannot express how much this old-timey mindset about women bothered me!

It is absolutely worth the cost of admission. The food is great and the music is amazing. This ranch is run by a group of hardworking people. The same people that take your tickets also serve you food and get on stage to perform. When you first walk in, you'll receive a nice warm welcome before being able to walk to the shop and to various outdoor activities. Then, before the main show in the hall, you'll get to watch a comedic gun fight. Once inside, you grab your plate, get some delicious food, and listen to some of the most talented musicians around. I've personally never been much of a country listener, but I found the music quite enjoyable. Edit: I really hope the recent wildfires haven't affected the ranch, but I saw that they are hosting performances and selling merchandise to raise money to help those affected.

Amazing. Been back and forth to Ruidoso for mini vacays since the late 80's, pre kids then kids...now with kids recently out of high school. We regret NEVER stopping all those years. We had an absolute great time on July 13th and will be back. We have set a family goal to make this an annual tradition. We knew nothing about it being a true "family" business. Every detail and experience of the afternoon and evening was a genuine treat. I could not stop wiping the smile from my face during the evening performance. One hour was not enough for me...I could have sat there for another hour. My hubby and 2 kids could not get enough of the YUMMY food, oh my! Thank you Hobbs family! We'll see you next summer.
