If you want to take a step back in time, this is a must visit. Chloride, in its heyday, had nine saloons, a general store, a dry goods store, a millinery shop, a restaurant, a butcher shop, a candy store, a pharmacy, a Chinese laundry, a photography studio, a school, and two hotels. The Black Range newspaper was printed in Chloride from 1882 to 1896. Chloride began with the Silver Panic of 1893 and was hastened by the presidential election of 1896, which resulted in a drastic decline in silver prices. Today, many of Chloride’s original structures still stand. The old Pioneer Store is a museum; next door the former Monte Cristo Saloon and Dance Hall houses a gift shop and gallery featuring work by local artists. Both are open seven days a week from 10am-4pm. A restaurant is open weekends (opens at 11am Thursday-Sunday). Follow K15 Adventures on Instagram and Facebook. Typically, remote destinations where the journey of Fishing, Kayak Fishing, Hunting, Camping is the principal goal with, some...

Visiting Chloride is like time travelling to the 1800s. The tiny town is amazingly well preserved, complete with a bank/cafe, a museum, an art gallery, several pioneer cabins and silver mining equipment on display. We had a fun guided tour with the town's gracious host, Kristin. You can have a full experience by renting one of the three cabins to stay in overnight, or use one of 5 RV spots. Well behaved pets are welcome. The town borders Gila National Forest and the nearby town of Winston has a well stocked general store and a gas station. The town is looking for a couple folks to reopen the cafe, accommodations are provided so if you are looking for a great...

My family and I were very disappointed to discover the museum closed when we arrived. We couldn’t find any information about times so we decided just to wing it. Upon showing up, we learned they were closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, so if anyone is heading out, just know this. Aside from this issue, we still walked around and read all the signs they have up. This little town is well kept, clean and just such a fun place for anyone looking to learn some history. I would give a 5 star rating but we were unable to get the true experience this place offers. I would imagine it would be even better!...

The town store was fantastic - like walking into the 1918 mid silver-rush. The towns national forest is also known as The Hanging Tree. So glad we went and enjoyed a few hours hearing the towns historic stories & feeling like it's 1900. The host (wish I got her name) was amazing and taught us alot about this cute town. They even had a small RV park. Thank you for being amazing. The Baileys @CoveredRVwagon

What a treat! Totally worth the effort to visit the town. The store was fascinating and our tour guide was knowledgeable of everything on display and more. My family is descended from a US Army captain that served the area in the 1870s. They displayed some items pertaining to him which made this a personal experience for my family. Go visit this unique place if you are traveling through the area.
