Called and asked if they had open, electric, pull thru for the night. Yes, Just come in and Ill help you, we close the gate at 5. Arrived about 2:30, talked to young person at window who could hardly hold eyes open due to heavy fake lashes. Paid. She began to tell me go L, go R, go L, go L. Take any open electric site. I then asked if any Pull thru so we Id not have to unhook tow. This whole time the 40 MH and Jeep are sitting in front of her line of site. She says take a L at stop sign and drive over many speed bumps and there are pull through. Now she finally gets a map out and shows me where to go. The left turn is a 45around this building. Drive to area. Sign says nothing over 26. She left that out. Unhook Jeep, back up coach and drive thru a reserved loop. Call office and ask her if we can have site #&?. Im a seasonal worker and I dont have access to reserved sites. Call NM state park office. Call NM State Park office. Closed except 8-12 on Saturday. Tried Reserve America who reservations are made via. No phone number to call, no same day reservations on website. Drive back to other end of park, get last back in electric site. Who cares, weve already unhooked Jeep. It’s just an...

We camped at Storrie Lake during dreary weather, which certainly doesn’t give the CG a chance to shine. On the bright side, the CG offers large, level sites with plenty of privacy. We had a 30amp/water site ($14 + online booking fee) and appreciated the easy to access dump station on the way out (also accessible on entry). Our Verizon worked without a booster, and there was plenty of room for walking our dog. This park is laid out a little funny, and we found the hard left upon entry to be challenging, and after that we were greeted with another hard left to enter the camp site area (less challenging than the first, but still seemed poorly planned). I see other reviewers noting that this CG is run down, and I would tend to agree, though it was hard to judge on our short stay. The park was clean, quiet, and there was a camp host and circulating park rangers. We would stay here again, but I didn’t see anything to make this a destination CG, more of useful overnight. It’s easy to access and close to a lot of handy amenities. It’s also worth noting there was a sign that said the water would be shut off beginning 10/1, which would make this spot less appealing if we were just...

I regularly visit Storrie lake. Very affordable camping. Beautiful lake! A backdrop of captivating forest/mountain scenery! At present due to a flood event the regular plumbed bathrooms are closed. All running water availability is off presently. The outhouse type are available...they usually lack regular spotful care and can be stunning as one enters them. When the regular restrooms are open they lack regular care cleaning too. Also a power spray wash of all table canopy facilities are in dire need. Grass/weeds are kept to a minimum. Respectfully speaking, a larger percentage of the local populace that frequent the lake have varying degrees of disregard with their general party life. Discarded bottles/trash. Unusual loud music and some drive with no regard to speed limit within the park so watch out Swim at your own risk. Boat at your own risk, as some of this party life is everywhere. Mostly mindful RV'ers at the reserved areas. A good sprinkling of primitive camping and a first come first serve camping area are available. Staff are mostly kind/friendly and helpful if available. This lake is a gem for New Mexico. It's sad due to the above, a darker opinion surfaces...

We stayed one night. Beautiful view of the mountains just past the lake. Quickly can get into town if you aren't cooking at the campground. (Check out Blake's LotaBurger). My husband and I agreed if we were to be in Las Vegas, NM for an overnight we would stay here again. We dry camped... And after dry camping at multiple campgrounds in the western states... Storrie Lake State Park was the cheapest ($14 tent 1 night, 2 adults). This is my first State Park to camp at... And I'll certainly be looking to support for State Parks with our future camping. Ohhh and one more thing! We had plenty of space! This is our "two room" tent. We stayed at some campgrounds that had us packed as sardines. The half circle ... Turn off for each vehicle to park along where they are camping... And be able to pull out. Lots of other campgrounds had us back into the spot and it was tight space on putting up our tent. There's security here also... In a sense. Park Ranger. We wish we had more time here! And we got the best sunset pics here! The rest of our trip going west and than east was cloudy 😂

One Star for the engineers who established the lake. One Star for the Rangers presence. No Star for the battling high winds. No Star for the management of port-a-John’s. After April the Comfort Station opened but was soon broken and the work was abandoned after a visit from repairmen. (It was clean the two times I used it) So the disgusting mess was still necessary and unattended. None of the Port-a-John’s lock and gender signs were questionable. No Star for the incident involving someone parking at the entrance and in a indirect and suspicious manner walking upon my single tent at one o’clock in the morning during a wind storm and the Ranger’s later claim/suggestion it was only Fishermen. I had only stopped an ambush by the activation of my car alarm. Police are slow on arrival. I would at least suggest to plant more trees in the primitive camping area.

I came out here to do a dog seminar for the local shelter. I was a little worried about my stay here because of the past reviews. I’ve been to a few lakes in New Mexico and this camp spot and lake are absolutely beautiful. It was mostly quiet and no parties or yucky smoke smells. The people who were complaining about the showers in other reviews must just not clean up after themselves. The cons about this place is. It’s hard to get ahold of an employee I wanted to buy an annual pass. People really do need to keep their dogs on a leash especially if they are not trained and would have been nice if the trash had been dumped and the fire pit cleaned out before our arrival. Isn’t what part of the fees you charge. No one to do this.
