Updated review: I saw on social media where they were offering the behind the scenes tour and had to jump on it. This was a very enjoyable tour. Amazing. I can not recommend this enough. I just love getting to peek behind the curtain to see the details. A whole room for lamp shades! Extravagant! What a lovely tour! Just took a tour of the house, but I will be back for the combination tour of the house and gardens. The history of this house was amazing. And to think that this was the second house erected here. I'm not sure where they moved the original house to, but I will Google. The tour guide was amazing and very informed. I am so glad to come and am considering the membership.

This is such a fantastic home to visit! The gardens are gorgeous and so well maintained, and the house itself it just beautiful. Our guide was so knowledgeable and funny, and ready to answer questions. You get to see several rooms of the home, and the ones you can't see are explained to you. It has amazing architectural details, and the gardens are meticulously organized. It was also fascinating to learn so much about the family who owned the home and all the equitable and impactful charity work they did. This was such a gem of a spot to visit, and we spend time sitting in the chairs along the oak-lined walk, which was just stunning.

We chose Longue Vue as the venue for our outdoor wedding ceremony in May, and it exceeded every expectation we had! The ceremony was outside on the lawn with the main house in the background, which was beautiful. The grounds were filled with flowers so we didn’t have to spend more money to decorate. The only small thing we had to consider was that the parking lot was a bit on the small side, so we recommended that our guests use rideshare services. However, the overall experience was amazing and we are so lucky to have found such a beautiful venue in New Orleans.

I had a contracted photo shoot for the authors in my anthology at Longue Vue House and Gardens in New Orleans for a magazine doing an article about us. The contract and payment were done and settled earlier this week. When we arrived to the location with the photographer, we were met in the hallway by the Executive Director who immediately informed up they were closed. I explained to her we had a contracted photo shoot and my authors drove in from out of state. Then she told us they had an event at 10 am and we couldn't be in the house. I explained that we knew that already and were prepared to take pictures under covered areas outside per our agreement with their sales manager. Then she proceeded to tell us we could not shoot there, ask us how much did we pay and informed one of the authors that her husband could not be inside. She said we could just go and they will refund my money within 24 hours. The executive director said we should have been informed by the sales manager, I asked for her, but she said that she was gone and would not be back for 45 minutes. I proceeded to call the sales manager who I confirmed with the day before about where we needed to go and who to check in with, however she did not answer. Not only was me and the guest embarrassed in front of staff and others who were in the house, the ED was confrontational, rude and dismissive. In addition, we had to find another location and pay more money to be able to shoot. I would never recommend this place apparently contracts...

I love Longue Vue. I have been coming 6 years. Every time I come the staff is lovely and kind. And the food at the cafe is great. yes it has changed a couple of years ago to what I see as a vegan/vegetarian food options the food is still great and I specifically love their bagels!! I recommend 10/10! Garlic spread specifically.

The gardens? GORGEOUS The staff? MARVELOUS The home? IMMACULATE The food? DELICIOUS

For all the people giving one star because the gardens are 'unkempt' how would you like to keep up 16 different gardens across 8 acres of land? It is very difficult. I have become close with the Longue Vue staff for coming here so often. If you have an issue with how the gardens look please go and volunteer yourself to clean it up and make it look beautiful. However they are still beautiful and the gardens that are 'unkempt' to you, might actually be designed to look like that.

Also, "As it is, at $3 more per person than the far superior botanical garden 10 minutes away, I do not feel I received good value for my money." somebody said this in a review. If you feel that way then just go there. As I have volunteered at Longue Vue before, we have a lot of staff and a lot of land that we need to work to keep it how it was previously.

Also y'all understand what weathering is correct. Old things do get dirty and it is hard to get to everything. Don't be shallow...

Went to the wreath making class as I have done for 4 years this past Saturday It’s always been a lovely holiday experience This year however it was completely thrown together - outside , wind & bugs ( always has been inside where it’s decorated beautifully for Christmas ) usually lovely snacks & drinks to nibble on ( this year very stale bread with the thinnest layer of hummus - no one ate it ) All in all very disappointing & the price was raised to $85 a wreath - not worth half that this year - I could have bought the supplies for under $10 - we knew it was overpriced but always worth the experience - we will not be recommending & will be telling others not to go - completely a disappointment Everyone was done in under an hour . Before it was a full 2 hours & we were sad to...
