Don't get me wrong.....The facilities here are emaculate and well Maintained with all of the services you would expect from a well managed Park District! I play softball here in a league and I REALLY am not a fan of these all Astro turf fields at all! The entire field is synthetic turf which just takes so much feel out of the game. For instance, having no dirt in the batters box, mound or I field leaves you with no visible reference points that you have been accustomed to your whole life which takes your timing off in everything you do. Secondly, dirt is so important in digging in the batter box and turf is really weird to hit from. Dirt is way better for Fielding as you have that natural give from sliding that turf doesn't offer. I can see way more Injuries on this surface than the conventional parks. This artificial surface is really bad if it is wet and you can expect to pull a hammy or groin messy around on this surface if it is slick! No substitute for the real thing! I can see they want to save money on maintenance but the wear and tear on a players body is going to be the price you pay on this surface! At the very least they should consider installing the dirt back in box, mound and infield. Not much...

Love this park. Has everything you could think of. They have baseball fields, soccer fields, foot ball field, golf range, tennis, pickleball, and more. Could spend a whole day here. Only drawback is that the golf balls tend to fly over to one of the baseball fields. This is a serious problem as the golf balls will one day hit a player on the baseball field. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen. Could easily be fixed with more netting to ensure no golf falls fly over on to the...

Whoever designed this facility with no bathrooms anywhere. Are you kidding? You are really bad at your job. When I suggested the addition of portable restrooms (at least during tournaments) one of the grounds people told me that Winnetka doesn't do...
