Gorgeous Bridge in the summer its finally going to be opend for bikes and walking one thing the Bridge is operated by the Port AUTHORITY , the Port Authority Police God Help you, if you fall into one of the nasty police officers, you will loose all respect you ever had for any law enforcement there are good cops and bad cops this particular bridge has a few Heartless cops who The word Nasty is an understatement, they think A. They are above the law B. A human being is worse treated then an animal so my suggestion for Drivers are please do yourself a favor and Drive 40 MPH over that bridge no matter in how much a rush you are it does not pay to go faster because those cops hide and inflate stories on you very bad unfortunately there are still alot of these cops out there we neednto make sure that they are relived from law enforcement and work in Mechanic or...

Beautiful modern looking (cable-stayed) bridge, connecting New York New Jersey. It has walkways for pedestrians too. Crossing from New York to New Jersey (westbound) is free but entering New York from New Jersey (eastbound) costs $15 more or less. This is simply robbing people to cover the construction cost of over a billion USD and beyond (making huge profit every single day). Port Authority NY/NJ must stop robbing people entering New York. All of their 4 bridges (George Washington, Bayonne, Goethals, Outerbridge crossing) got the same rates to enter New York. Overall it's a good experience traveling through...

I like the new Bridge and we have noticed some major improvements but at the same time. The old Goethals Bridge had nice workmanship and class. Don't get me wrong, I really like the two Bridges that offer 3 wider lanes to travel on both ways nowadays. The smoother road also makes it safer and nicer to travel on. Plus let's not forget the walkway. At rush hour time, it can become a bit hectic with traffic but that's New York/New Jersey for you.

The Goethals Bridge is a twin, cable-stayed bridge expanding over Arthur Kills, a Staten Island. It was opened in June 29, 1928 and named after Major General George W. Goethals on his 70th birthday, builder of the Panama Canal and the first consulting engineer of the Port Authority. It’s one of three bridges that connects Staten Island, New York, to the New Jersey Turnpike in Elizabeth, New Jersey.

I love this new bridge! It’s so much better than old bridge designed by some guy in 1928! This bridge handles traffic amazingly! (besides when there is a backup on the Staten Island Expressway). And guess what, the lane mathematics actual make sense! A 3 lane highway goes into a 3 lane bridge? Wow, what a novel idea! This bridge is a big improvement compared to the last one!
