Basically, this is the beach where everyone who grew up in the Bronx, would visit. Both summer & winter times. In the off season its the place to go to work-out/train. Once the Rocky movie came out, we would all jog/run the about 5 miles up the Bronx Park and into Pelham Pkwy, to the beach. Then up the entrance stairs playing the fight song & Eye of the Tiger. This began my career as an expert martial artist, aside from the Dojo on Gun Hill Rd . As far as the beach, goes In the summer time gets extremely crowded. Forget about driving here, traffic backed-up, almost to the bridge. And the water is never clear, basically hit & run as far as polluted water goes.

However the backwoods, hidden behind Hunters Island is a paradise for the Bronx. And perfect place to go island hopping across the Sound. Wonderful beaches on the other islands, although forbidden/taboo.😎 Absolutely Like πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ Deeply Magically Mysterious Nature πŸ’œπŸ’™πŸ’œ still one of the most spectacular places, with great "chi" mana/ki/prana (energy vibes) across the whole States πŸ€™πŸŒβ˜―οΈπŸ’ŽπŸ™ , currently out west, and only place that's has better "Flow" is the ancient Redwoods of Humboldt county, Cali.πŸ’ŽπŸ€™perhaps Hawaii, but still have not made it to that StateπŸ’Ž then its across the Pacific to the Philippines and the isles of Indonesia. to hang out with Jason Momoa, ...

Love only when there is SALSA BANDS! Half of the time the bathrooms are so dirty and smelly and infested with Mosquitoes!!! I would go enough to enjoy for a few songs then leave! With all the money it makes they should always keep the bathrooms at all time clean and smelling good it's a shame woman go in to the bathroom with children and it's so dirty and smelling so bad! The people who sit at the bathrooms to watch are hardly even there to see what goes on! They had men going into the woman's bathroom! It's horrible anything can happen and you hardly see cops around to busy talking or checking woman out on beaches! Like I say only for a band I go to see and stay an hour! Unless it's a good concert! Other then that place is horrible and disgusting! Really need to do something...

This is a smaller beach, usually overcrowded which means it gets pretty dirty. If your driving its a 10 fee to park all day by 6pm the beach closes and by 8 pm if your not pulled out of parking you get a ticket for $110. There is a playground basketball courts and the bathrooms are not cleanly the floors get sandy and muddy from the traffic in and out and not much maintenance. The water had garbage floating in it. I wouldn't reccomend this...

I live in Bronx and I am happy to go there whenever the weather is sunny and warm. On weekdays and Saturday is better, but on Sunday it is just too crowded with too many people listening to their own loud music, which makes it difficult to relax (that's why 4 stars). I recommend to walk at one of the two extremities of the beach to find a more quiet spot.

Terrible beach at 6 o'clock everyone was kicked out of the water, at 6:10 from the beach. It is not clear why you can't just sit and watch the sunset. Were at low tide it is impossible to swim. Only walk. Very shallow, dirty and noisy.
