Unfortunately it missed the mark this year. We have been going to their fall festival and berry picking for a few years now. The initial price to enter has always been a sticker shock; so we have been prepared for it. The kids have always enjoyed it. This year; prices have seemed gone up in every other aspect of the event. In the past the jumping pads have been covered by tarps; giving solace to the florida sun. But I believe they were taken down due to the last hurricane and they have not been replaced. The slide seems to be bumpier this year perhaps warped by the rain/sun? It made for an uncomfortable ride. They used to have the pumpkin patch right up front so that you didnât have to carry a 7 lb pumpkin around the large area; but this year it is moved by the food trucks⌠so instead of having ample seating 1/3 is being used by pumpkins which of course your young one will be climbing and picking up while youâre trying to shove the 25$ (per plate) bbq in your mouth or the 7$ ice cream which will inevitably melt before you get to your table. In the past my true joy was the lemonade; but shrinkflation has taken over this and the once faire sized lemonade is now a smaller drink for a seemingly same cost. For some reason this time the tree houses and playground (and the only thing shaded by trees) has become the Wild West where parents ignore the bigger kids climbing over and pushing their way past the smaller kids. It was more crowded there then in the past and something to be mindful of if you have smaller kids. They did increase the length of the train ride which would have been great on a cloud filled day but we all had was clear sunny skies and I felt the twinge of being too sun kissed by the end of the ride. The parents and kids dressed like for fall in the north east (sweaters and jeans) were clearly regretting this decision and with little shade they had to hide in the slivers of shade provided by random objects. I always appreciated their ample restrooms even if they are port a potties they are clean. Their large one by the food did not have working sinks and there was no sink directly outside of the restroom which made for an awkward opportunity. The staff has always been kind; and the farm is clean but we didnât walk away from this event for less than 200$ for the three of us with all the...
Read moreLooking for a day trip outdoors with the kids and or just a nice relaxing place to pick fruit? This is it. We actually drove over from Jax for a different Farm but we ran late and could not get it. We found this location and were so glad! There is plenty of free parking and Waze took us straight to it. Entrance is free and you pay for what you pick per pound and if you want the kids to play on the jumpy areas, slide down the slide, ride the little train etc,..There is an adorable General Store for souvenirs, a charming lemon-aide and milkshake stand, a place that looks like you can have a small band and a wonderful area for picnics and or eating a little snack in the food Cafe building. The Farm is well built and maintained and presents itself with a lot of warmth, care and cleanliness. I can see opportunities for evening events w/the lighting in each building. I went w/my husband and we quickly shared it w/grown adult families and look forward to taking the grandkids. We picked 5-8 lbs of blueberries, took some cute photos and enjoyed a hotdog, chips and soda before we drove home. The experience is worth the drive and I highly recommend Amber Brooke Farms Williston. I did see porta potties in the back middle area of the blueberry section but I believe there are sufficient facilities near the food area and in the general store, entrance area. I do recommend putting and or bringing sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat on sunny warn days. Wear comfortable flat shoes and appropriate outdoor clothing based on what time of year you attend. It surely is a nice place and we were lucky to not come on a congested day/time. Be aware, the food area stops serving around 3PM. Still, once you leave the Farm, Williston offers...
Read moreIt was Soooo much fun! Well organized festival with a ton of stuff for the kids! There were jumping areas based on age, gem mining, archery, gel blaster, a HUGE combine that took us around the farm for a ride. The last 4 items were extra that would be purchased online with the tickets. From that vantage point, we could see the entire farm. There's a field of sunflower, xinnias, cabbage, and, of course, a ton of blueberry plants, all for picking at very reasonable prices. The entry scans the admission, and then the entry to the farm section is through the gift shop. Once out there, right in front of the gift shop is the map that labels everything there is to do. To the left is the cafe, and left to that is the dessert building with homemade milkshakes are sooooo delicious. The stage is in front of those two buildings with live music. Next to the stage is a ginormous chair like for the jolly green giant. Great for pictures! Parking is free, and someone directs you once you turn onto the property. Blueberry sections have the name of the Bush and how they taste. Past the Cafe and towards the back of the farm is a huge pavilion with nice tables and benches surrounded by the food vendors. The farm also has lots of other amenities and things to do for both kids and adults. So for the price and the fun, you can not go wrong. Also, what kind and so helpful staff is there for whatever is needed! They do not hesitate to answer questions or offer help. This was fantastic all the...
