First time going, went to attend their plant and garden show. Got there about noon on Saturday April 30, lucked out and got a parking spot close to entrance and in the shade. I expected more vendors but the ones that were there had a nice variety of plants and crafts. We picked up some pretty nice plants at a reasonable cost. The vendors we encountered accepted cards so we didn't have to use all our cash. While the actual gardens was beautiful and the garden and plant show really nice, the reason for the 4 star review was because of the food. I understand that this is in no way related to the show or the gardens, but I will definitely eat before going Next time. Please keep in mind that reviews are subject to one's personal perspective and experience.... so here goes my experience. One food truck sold smoked meat, another gyros, another tacos and a variety of dishes, another served homemade lemonade and fries, another funnel cakes and a variety of desserts, another sold pizza, and finally one sold ice cream cones, frappes and slushies. We opted to go with the vendor that served tacos and they also served a variety of food, pulled pork, chicken, sliders etc....I had the chicken platter with Mac and cheese a roll and a pickle, my daughter had the pulled chicken sandwich with Cole slaw, needless to say we took 2 bites and threw it out. What a waste of $23. We figured we would get something sweet to try and cleanse our pallets from the God awful chicken we'd just had. That was just as bad if not worse. The batter had not been fried thoroughly and when we pulled it apart and took a bite, it was soft, soggy and mushy. Once again after a bite we ended up throwing that out. On our way out we decided to try the ice cream/frappe food truck, my ice cream come was good and the only saving grace however my daughter's frappe was horrible as they used powdered coffee. They did have a nice seating area to eat your food with a band playing. Overall but for the horrible food it was a nice experience thus the reason for my 4 star rating. I will say that starting Saturday evening into Sunday and all day Sunday I was sick to my stomach (on both ends). I hadn't eaten anything but the food at the garden show and I was careful to use hand sanitizer constantly. Word to the wise you may want to skip the food in the future and enjoy the beauty of the botanical gardens and the...
Read moreThis is the most magical place. Here in Williston Florida. It took me about 3 and 1/2 hours to get there. Definitely worth the ride. Before you even enter the gardens. There are breathtaking views of the lakes that surround the garden As you travel down the rocky road around the Lakes.
There's always a variety of birds . If you're there at the right time of day. You can watch the birds changing trees. Quite a beautiful sight. It's 100 acre property. That was a limestone quarry. It was dug out over 100 years ago to build highway 27. Dr Webber discovered the property. He decided to create this abandoned facility into something magnificent. He hired all the workers to build walkways going along the curry There's 50 separate gardens ,waterfalls, and of course beautiful birds, flowers, exotic plants ,and trees. Some native to Florida and some from around the world. There's also live cows that run the property. They also have a facility where you can hire to have a special event with a pretty little gazebo. Gardens outline the quarry with waterfalls and of course flowing down into the cedar Lake. There's a swan named Guinivere, several ducks, pheasants, a goose, a squirrel named Delilah, a rose-breasted cockatoo named Rosie, numerous Koi fish, and a 100-pound blue catfish named Big ... The entrance fee is $12 Veterans are active military $6 They also hold live events on the at least 50 acre grass front property. Is someone comes to visit no matter what part of Florida you're in. This is definitely a nice place to take family or friends to relax and enjoy a day. The employees that run it are very knowledgeable about the history and the flowers throughout the garden. I was looking everywhere for the cows and couldn't find them. Jesse one of the groundskeepers walked me across the whole park to to show me the pasture where all the cows and their babies were. They were on a separate piece of property for the day due to the alive event These are the lakes that surround the botanical Garden. Too much to share in one post. I will post one of the gardens...
Read moreThis place is absolutely enchanting and amazing! It is the perfect place to spend a day wandering around and studying flowers. It is eye candy! When you get there, you have to drive down a dirt road pathway- I suggest taking a car with good shocks and tires and try to avoid taking a car that's low to the ground. Once you park you will go to the clerk to pay the entrance fee of 12.00 for adults (children have lesser fees). They provide you a map of the gardens. They have staff that can help you answer any questions that are usually very informative. There are several areas where you can grill to actually plan a lunch. There are beautiful waterfalls, flowers, and wildlife all around. It feels like a studio Ghibli movie set (Japanese anime)! Or Disney movie set. This place is definitely the place you would want to take a first date to, friends from out of town, or a special occasion. They have one waterfall you can walk underneath and feel the water. Wearing sneakers or good walking shoes is definitely a must because there are parts you need balance for. They have plants you can purchase at the front entrance. The more you walk around- the more hidden treasure you find. I was lucky and got photos and video of a hummingbird moth ☺️. The swans are very beautiful to see wandering around. They have a variety of turtles that are very people friendly and absolute hams. There are portable restrooms for public use and they are fairly clean (park quality clean... They are outside). My favorite area was the Zen garden area with the beautiful red and black bridges and shrine. They're perfect for portraits. You will definitely feel like you're in a painting walking around this very detailed floral garden. Since it is set up in a quarry - part of the path will feel like you're walking around a small mountain- looking down at the lake with amazing waterfalls and water spouts. Be prepared to take plenty of pictures, take in the majestic nature, and feel like royalty in...
