This park is beautiful with lots of trees, hills, wildflowers, and ponds. It seems like there is always a nice breeze. From the parking area there is an expansive view. The paved paths are nice, especially if the ground is wet. There is plenty of wildlife such as deer, snakes, wild turkeys, etc. There is a cute playground and a large pavilion with indoor restrooms, electrical outlets, and a drinking fountain/water bottle filling station.
Something to consider is that the trails are not marked. This is one feature that I wish they would add, but in the meantime, consider taking a picture of the map with your phone before you get on the trails. Also, the deer flies are aggressive on the trails. So plan ahead when you...
Read moreIf you ever played golf at the former Wicked Woods Golf course, this park is a stroll down memory lane. All of the old asphalt cart paths are still mostly intact, and some remnants of the old course like tee box signs and water holders still remain in what is now mostly a nature preserve. Every time I've been there, there have never been more than one or two other vehicles in the parking lot. It makes for a mostly solitary nature walk. Read moreLove coming here when I need a really good workout. Lots of trails with a lot of hills. Make sure to take a bottle of water with you, even if you're only going for a shorter walk. After being closed for quiet some time, they made some really great improvements. There are new bathroom facilities and a new trail loop. They are adding a playground area for the kids, but it's not finished yet. The trails are still the old cart paths, which is awesome, so you still get the workout you're looking for.
