Sometimes you just have to write a review right? Despite it being a bit icy (wind chill was like -10 f??!!! ) the slopes are fantastic and well groomed. The staff who groom the trails really know how to do their job they turned an igloo into a speedy paradise. The trails are wide, long and super fun, better than killington in VT. But the staff were all really friendly, happy to give advice and despite the conditions at the time made it all worth while. Since I moved to the US a year ago, everyone said in the NE vermont is the only place worth it. So far, New Hampshire has taken the cake and Sunapee was the first to give me the best impression. Congrats guys and thank you from the bottom of my heart if I could give more than 5 I absolutely would.
P.S the mountain is great for advanced people like me, it has a great section for beginners but I cant comment on their ski school, the few people being taught at the time seemed to be getting a good lesson and the beginners side is perfect but if you are a beginner I am not sure on whether this is for you, be sure though that he staff will help you as much as...
Read moreSunapee management need re-training or replacing. The "Epic Express' lane for those who bought their tickets online in advance was about 10 deep; it took them 15 minutes to serve two people! We waited for well over an hour so all the early advantage of using the slopes before the crowds was lost. When we were served the line was about 30 deep. Only incompetent management would allow this level of service.
At the mountain lodge the cook had put on only chicken so all t hose wanting hamburgers had to wait an age; the hamburger pickup place (where I waited) was replaced with a separate line (who knew?) and, because the line was long, they hurried the cooking so I got an under-cooked hamburger; I think that's a health hazard. The lines at the main ski lift were so bad we had to abandon our queueing to move to another lift.
Sunapee is fundamentally a good resort. The poor management makes it...
Read moreI had a nice day skiing at Mt Sunapee - however I have some concerns. The staff was pleasant and the lifts were running smoothly.
I paid full price for a ticket for a Monday. I knew only about 2/3rds of the trails were open as it has been a poor snow winter. However, two of the black runs which the app showed as 'open' were closed all day for 'racing' - no racers appeared on these slopes until 2.30pm at the earliest. I am not sure how a mountain can continue to charge full prices for a day of skiing and then make the excuse that runs are closed when the full resort is...
