10/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! This is a wonderful farm and atmosphere that brings community together. Every time my wife and I visit VFF, we’re created with smiles and open arms from the entire family and staff. They have an incredible farm store with a ton of fresh farm options. We recently purchased a home just 2 hours away in Rhode Island and plan to visit the property on a regular basis to get our meats and produce. It’s crazy how much better we feel when we are solely eating a diet from them. More energy, better digestion, better sleep. Local farms and local food is almost unheard of now in the US and the junk we consume at grocery stores is hard to stomach once you have a taste for real food. I’m so grateful that there are still tremendous people like the Vernon’s out there - they attract community in their small town. On a separate note. It is very sad that neighbors who live in a designated farm use area are actively trying to destroy their livelihood. I’ve never seen a more prejudice “not in my back yard” attitude by pretentious and selfish people. Who goes to an event they enjoy and then sues them to not do events ? They claim their events don’t allow them to sleep (their concerts end by 7pm bc they are trying to be respectful of neighbors and are monitored by decibel readings - I know, crazy.) they also claim it scares their children with the noise and traffic- That claim is absurd- just go to an event and all you’ll see is young families with kids playing in a fun and safe. As far as traffic, that road isn’t one that you’d let any kids run or bike in bc it’s a fast driving road and there is an extremely tight turn on the corner. If anything, it slows traffic down. I would urge anyone not familiar with the matter to visit the farm and meet the Vernons. Nicole is a beloved school teacher in Exeter and Jeremiah is an extremely well educated young man that makes you feel like you’re talking with an old buddy. 10/10...
Read moreEdited for updates: For four years, I was a vocal supporter of this farm—attending concerts, bringing friends, promoting it to everyone I knew (even NHPR). The summer nights with music and food (when it was hot and fresh) truly felt magical.
But behind the scenes, integrity matters. In 2024, I pre-paid for concert tickets. At the gate, our names were missing from the list, so I was charged again - no fuss, I thought I mixed up the dates. The owner, Nicole, later acknowledged the error, found our names, apologized in person, and told me to message her for a refund. I did—she responded to say she would take care of the refund then and didn't.
I followed up in 2025 before purchasing again, assuming the mix-up would be easily corrected. Instead, I was met with deflection:
“I forgot… I’m the only one doing communication.”
“We clearly state no refunds.”
“You should’ve called instead of messaging.”
“You waited a year.”
Let’s be clear: I followed her instructions. She failed to follow through. Blaming the customer for honoring the communication method she requested, then for not chasing her mistake sooner, is gaslighting disguised as policy.
After much back and forth offering store credit (something I didn’t buy) instead of honoring the original purchase, is coercive and a passive aggressive way to still have power over, following all the deflection. Only when I pushed transparency publicly did she suddenly process a refund that had “clearly” been against policy.
I share this not to harm—NH needs amazing places for families and local goods- but we also need integrity. If you market yourself as community-driven, your behind-the-scenes interactions have to match. This farm was my favorite part of summer, now we will spend our concert budget elsewhere. It's a cautionary tale in not believing how people market themselves and know there may be more to the story in how they actually...
Read moreWe checked this place out Sunday. Nice concept. Prices looked a bit high but heard the food was good. We sat at one of the picnic tables as we were instructed, and scanned in the QR Code for our Table #21 and started to order off the menu. 5 Minutes later waitress comes up and says we ordered of the Lunch/Dinner menu by mistake and she would have to refund the order and start a new one for Brunch. So we re-ordered from the Brunch Menu, she asked if I needed a receipt and I said no. Chicken & Waffles, Biscuits and Gravy, a draft and a sangria. Food came pretty quickly and it was pretty good. On Monday while reviewing our checking account online I see a charge for $91, a charge for $48 and a refund for $56. I call over there to find out what is going on and spoke to Jerimiah and explain to him that the first botched order was only partially refunded. He sad he would look into it and make it right. He said he would email me the receipts. I check my email today and on each receipt there is a 20% surcharge added for "Equitable Pay Fee". I text Jerimiah back saying that we won't be returning or supporting their establishment because of these bogus tacked on fees. This is insane. Your prices are already through the roof and we left a 15%...
