Overall, it’s a decent beach. Good for kids and an easy walk from the parking area to the beach. However, the smell that permeates through the air is just a bit unsettling. At times, it was almost nauseating. It could be low tide but it smelled more like sewage to me. Also, there was a lot of seaweed. Parking is $25 and discounted to $20 after 4pm. Seems a bit on the high side to me, but at least they have a clean air conditioned bathroom trailer. If the seaweed count were lower and it didn’t smell, it would be a 5 star beach.

Technically a private beach, but for only 25$ you and your carload gets into the beach, big enough to be enjoyable, lots of dry sand to set up umbrellas and relax, waves aren't too big but that makes this a great place to play in the ocean, and when the tide goes out you can even walk out to the rocks 😁, and their snack bar even has vegetation options for food, provided you order early enough and they don't run out, but even the regular meaty stuff is cooked amazingly, and not overpriced for a beach snack bar

Gooseberry Beach is an absolute must-visit! The water is calm and crystal clear, making it perfect for swimming and relaxing. The beach is well-kept, family-friendly, and has a peaceful vibe that makes it easy to spend the whole day here. Whether you’re lounging on the sand, taking a dip, or just enjoying the beautiful views, it’s the perfect spot for a getaway. Definitely one of the best beaches to visit!

Been coming here since I was young and nowhere else compares for me. This is my home. A smaller more intimate beach than others in RI or other places. I love the concerts on Wednesday evenings in the summer, it is just a family friendly place with beautiful scenic views of the large houses overlooking the Ocean Drive. Food is delicious, atmosphere is friendly. If you're a local you can sit with friends. I've been sitting with friends I've known for over 25 years. Fourth of July fills the lot fast, so if you're visiting make sure you come early, otherwise it is members only. I'm proud to be a member...

The food and staff at the Gooseberry Beach Snack Shack are the BEST in the biz. Owner of the Snack Shack Lindsey has a great variety of sweets and treats on the menu and on Wednesday night's beach members get a special menu for the music night. Fresh 🍓Strawberry Lemonade, Peach Lemon Ginger Ice Tea are their signature drinks and Tuna Wraps🌯 with Homemade Beach Slaw are a beach patron favorite. Don't worry if you aren't a member you can come on down to Gooseberry for a daily parking or walk on fee every day. I'll see ya...
