Well worth the hike on a clear day! Unfortunately most of our view was hidden by a cloud, but we snapped a few nice photos. Make sure to bring waterproof boots, it's muddy and wet in many places. And bring plenty of snacks and water, it WILL take you longer than you expected if you are not an avid hiker like us. Make sure to check the weather before going up because clouds can move in quickly and ruin your view(speaking from experience). There are a couple different ways up there but I think coming up from the Low Gap trail in the Cosby section of the park is best. Read moreGetting to this tower is not for the faint of heart or fitness for that matter. I hiked the Chestnut Branch to Appalachian to Mt cammerer trail to get to the tower. If you take that route prepare to hike a steady incline for 6 miles. Until you get near the top there are no views as you are surrounded by trees on every side.
