Multi-us trail. Cycling, horses, atv's and walking. Beautiful along the rail trail with the sugar river. Awesome covered bridges. Very sandy for biking on 50% of the 9.5 miles and you must have a mountain bike or other bicycle with wide tires to maneuver over the sand. Weekends are busy with ATV's and horses but we found everyone friendly. We moved to the side when ATV'S or horses went by. Although this is a beautiful rail trail it was too sandy for me with a trek basic mountain bike. This is one of only a few rail trails that NH allows trail bikes on. It was nice to explore it...

A lovely but level trail. Nice for leisurely walks, running, jogging, bicycle rides, cross country skiing. I just love being able to be in the woodsy environment!

If I remember correctly this former railroad bed rises 60???? feet from North Newport to Claremont. I cross country skied it (a few years ago+) in three legs. North Newport to Oak ST. Oak St to Kelleyville, and Kelleyville to Claremont. Three lovely excuersions although the snow was scarce on the...

I love how accessible this trail is. It's maintained very well. Easy walk with a large double stroller and littles in tow! During the day only! The outskirts of the trail are another story. The sides are littered with beer cans and trash. Mattresses dumped in plain view. I would not suggest anyone walking this trail after dark. The foot traffic changes drastically and many people are spooked by creepers...

Stop along my ride today on the Sugar River Trail. Beautiful ride.

Nice trail for running and walking, not so great for cycling. There are often 4-wheelers on the trail, who have always been courteous but it does make the trail very soft and sandy in many places, which makes it virtually impossible to ride a super-fat tire bike through. Unless of course it's icy which makes for great running with studded shoes.

I rode this on my bike to Claremont and back (22 miles RT). Very scenic and in pretty good shape considering that it's open to OHRV. There are a few historical sites but generally it's just the trail. Small parking areas at most road crossings. Trail kiosks have some info but not a lot. My new favorite in NH.
