-The bridge was nice looking, but I didn't have time to walk it before the friend I was meeting arrived. -It's fine that I didn't walk the bridge, because there were 2 people parked in front of the left entrance smoking copious amounts of marijuana and the whole area reeked of the smell. A few minutes later a group of small children ran through the right side entrance and directly into the smoke and stench. Now seems like as good of a time as any to remind everyone that; YOU are only supposed to use it in your home. Smoking and driving, smoking in public are the same as drinking and driving or drinking in public. Maybe the entrance is narrow for a wheelchair. And it is a dirt path leading from the parking lot the bridge. Walking across took me 20 seconds each way. There is no bathroom nearby. You’ll probably have to drive to the Sunday River resort nearby. You can walk down to the rivers edge to take pictures. Its technically open 24 hours, but its not lot so you wont see it at night off the main road. I did not see a plaque explaining the history of the bridge. But the sign does say Sunday...
