I attended an in-studio live class at the end of May 2021 days before the mask ban and covid restrictions were lifted statewide, because I was fully vaccinated. I attended class with other masked practitioners and the teacher.

I was a bit taken aback by how dirty the studio was. The floor was covered in dust and debris, and it wasn’t from a previous class. Looking around at the baseboards, they were caked in dust and dirt. It was clear they are broom cleaning, at best.

45 minutes into the class, the teacher got up and said “it’s getting a little hot in here, let’s turn on the air.” I thought to myself, “how has the ventilation system not been on this entire time?! We are in a global pandemic with an airborne virus, and we’re in a closed room with no air circulation?” I was shocked.

I did not go back again and will not go back, based on this studio’s acceptable level of cleanliness and consideration level for their staff and clients health.

I waited two weeks to write this review, to see if my thoughts on this changed or diminished with time, but they have not. I’ve thought about this experience a lot since my visit and think it’s important to give others my perspective who are considering going to or returning to...

I don't recommend Newton Down Under!!! I double-paid for this class and tried to communicate with them, but they have my credit card information, and I cannot dispute the charge. I did try to resolve it, but because your credit card is in their records, you cannot delete it permanently.

Sophia was very rude to me. I was in the class, and she asked me to leave. I will never go back again . I used ClassPass to enroll in the class and checked in at the front desk with Sophia. I confirmed with her that the pass was valid and didn’t require any additional payment. She said everything looked good and confirmed it, so I attended the class.

I have no idea why Sophia still charged me $76 for a drop-in class. She clearly doesn't understand the ClassPass system. She should have told me from the beginning, but instead, she said I was all set, which is why I attended the class on it, If she had told me at the start, just like in the first class on it, I could have left the...

Down Under Yoga in Newton is an absolute gem and the sense of community here is palpable – everyone, from the staff to the students, radiates warmth and kindness. From the moment you step into the studio, you're greeted with a cozy atmosphere.

Shawna’s classes are truly something else – they’re always packed for a reason! Her energy, guidance, and ability to create a transformative experience on the mat are unparalleled.

One of the most unique aspects of this studio is the breadth of offerings. From Hot Power Flow to deeply restorative practices, there's something for everyone. I was especially amazed to find Iyengar Ropes classes here – a rare class that showcases the studio’s commitment to offering diverse, high-quality yoga experiences.

If you’re looking for a studio that combines top-notch instruction with a genuine sense of community, this is the...

I've been a student here for two years. It's rare you find a yoga community in such a fast-paced city that truly feels like a family. When you walk in, life slows down. All of the teachers are far more experienced than I've seen at other Boston-area studios. Great variety of classes and teaching styles. Reasonable prices and a solid schedule of special events and workshops. They take good care of their spaces and their students. It's no surprise they win Best of Boston year after year!
