Maytag Park — Attraction in Newton

I absolutely love this park, I look forward to spending a full day there to kick off my summer. This park has a little of everything for all ages, the playground is HUGE and offers equipment for little kids all the way up to swings that adults can use. They have Tennis & Basketball courts, and amplitheater and a beautiful bike trail. Very clean and well maintained. But my all time favorite is the public pool that offers an area for very small children, kick ass waterslides, diving boards and plenty of lounge chairs. I recommend this park with 5...

This is a great park in an unexpected setting! We stopped here to have lunch and run around after 6 days on the road across the country. When you have a 2 year old, any park is gold. Great job to the residents of Newton for maintaining this beautiful park. I would request, however, erecting a few navigational signs to the playground, water park, potties etc. for us out-of-towners so we keep from doing embarrassing potty dances simply trying to find the restroom! Not a huge gripe, but it would be helpful.

It's a chill relaxing place to eat, play at the playground and take the whole family (even the dog). There is a baseball, basketball and even a tennis court. The on site pool is one of kind here in Iowa and is extremely well taken care of. The Newton Festival is terrific but only happens once a year and lasts for about a week. It is thee designated spot and by far the best and biggest park in Newton, Iowa. Old Fred Maytag would be proud of how well it's been taking care of since it opened over...
