Southside Park — Attraction in Newton

We went for their Halloween event yesterday. It was a great spot to go to that had a little of everything. They had Hay rides, candy, games, inflatables, and food trucks. There were also costume contests. Loved seeing all the selfmade and store bought contestants.

On a regular day I love how spacious it is. Huge track people usually run or walk their dogs around. My kids always love the pit stops to pet them. My family has all met up and played volleyball and had so much fun here. A little sad that it isn't there anymore. They have swings, a sandbox, and a playground with a few slides. Nice open area for picnics and walking. The playground however, REALLY needs an update with safety in mind. The playground was very unsafe and had open areas where kids could've just fell out. Climbing up to the slides had a couple open spots with no handles where small children could fall, very dangerous! While we there, the one side of the handle broke and I had to twist it back together. I would not come back and let my kids play here. Wish I had taken pictures of the playground,...

Not a bad part plenty of space, the kids usually hang out here when I say kids I mean high schoolers so they're always doing something stupid like riding those mini motorcycles on the sidewalks and skateboards trying to start trouble, in their own minds they think it's funny.
