1922 House Vineyards & Winery — Attraction in Nicholasville

I planned a trip for me and some of my friends to go do a tasting here and while it was not what I imagined, it was much cooler. The owner and operator is also the person running the tasting room which provides you with direct access to his wine making process and what his plans were going into each batch of wine. Definitely well respected in the area as he does exclusive batches for local distributors.

The tasting itself is run out of the properties garage which seems strange initially but once you're in there, it adds to the awareness of how dedicated Brian (owner) is to his craft. He doesnt waste time on showiness or a "venue" but reinvests all of his profits into making each batch of wine better. Although, if you are interested, the property does have a cute airbnb but thats as close as they come to "venue".

Due to the popularity that day, Brian and his wife were running the tastings when we visited and they knew exactly what they were doing so that everyone felt attended to and properly informed on each wine. They allow you to sample almost every bottle that they sell and have some thing for everyone. My parents have been involved in the wine industry for quite some time and I plan to take them here before soon before I move onto my next location.

Hubs and I love wine and our tastes are vastly different. While I love the more sweet wines, he loves the more dry reds. Brian was so knowledgeable about each wine (because he runs the whole operation himself). We were given complimentary tastings of many of the wines they have to offer. I gotta say, even I enjoyed the dry wines although, proffered the sweets. The grapes used for the wines are great and you can taste the quality in each wine. The sangria is out of this world and we were both HUGE fans of the coffee infused wine. Yes, COFFEE infused wine. If you love coffee you need to try this stat. It was amazing. (We came home with a bottle) I will definitely be back, hope to see you there!

Oh also everything is pretty much local to Jessamine county/Kentucky which is a huge bonus. I love supporting...

Anyone that knows me understands that I do not post reviews or engage in social media. That said, 1922 is a business worthy of your attention. My wife that doesn’t really enjoy wine was so enamored by the presentation of the product and the quality of the wine that even she asked about buying various vintages. The wine at 1922 is extraordinary. They exercise incredible care in the craft of wine making. The attention to the customer is incredible. Without a doubt a must stop for anyone interested in good wine and the craft of wine making. As someone that has visited many many many winery’s, breweries, distilleries, 1992 is among the very very best.
