Yesterday was my first time up there since i was little, The place is very beautiful and i would come back everyday.. Until today when i was leaving an old man stopped me, Recording me accusing me of tearing up their gravel parking lot and harassing a woman.. I asked when this was and he said the woman harassment was yesterday and tire spinning had been going on for about a month.. he said the truck was very identical to mine though he had never seen the driver before.. wait.. so if you have no proof that it was actually me how are you gonna just straight assume it was me right?? Anyways so i explained to him that it was my 2nd time there, and that i did not once harass a lady but i did ask questions about the park's trail locations. So after chatting with the old man i told him to have a good day and i left and the guy had got a video of my licence plate even though wasnt doing anything illegal, What a shame. If law enforcement showes up to my place i will be calling a lawyer and take it to court. There has been soo many trucks like mine that ive seen around Nitro and IM the ONE to get accused of turning up their gravel after MY 2ND TIME THERE just to have a look at the place.. I WILL NOT be coming back unless i hear that something changes.. VERY inappropriate way to welcome someone, very ridiculous.. you guys don't deserve anybody's visit...

Really the gazebo is not the highlight of this park though, it's the dog park and trails in the back. The dog park is very nice. It is fenced in with a very tall fence and has three doors so you can ensure your dog doesn't run out. There have been volunteers who have recently been working on the uncared for trails and have even added in a new bike trail it seems. There are always geese here and people love to fish and kayak...
Read moreMy husband took the kids (5&6) and I out to the lake, up at one of the shelters and we had such a lovely cookout. The view is stunning, the air is crisp and clean, it's peaceful and quiet. I feel safe to let the kids run to the little playground down the hill. I'm trying to convince my husband to take his kayak out on the lake. Nice and simple launch system for kayak usage.
For parents: There is a public restroom up by the big playground and the doors can be seen by the road. No changing table. No bathroom...
