Decided to see what the winery situation was in this area and visited three wineries. The Lonesome Vine Winery is down a long gravel road, actually several, and very easy to miss. Even as you approach, if feels unreal because it is pretty much two buildings – a metal winery building and a small tasting room. Upon entering, we were met by the two owners. We had made a reservation, which is required, because it is so small. The only foods are pizzas that are premade that they then cooked. We did not have one, but they actually looked good.
Tastings are for any 4 wines on their by the glass list. My wife and I did 8 total, sharing each one. Without a doubt, this was the absolute best wine we tasted on our day at three wineries. We very much liked all five of the reds that we sampled. We especially liked the Uva Vinum and brought some home. We also very much liked the Sod Buster. The white and rose were good, just nothing we would bring home.
The owners were friendly and enthusiastic and very informative. So, overall, very very good wine, fun out of the way location, sensational service and...
Read moreMe and my wife are in town for our wedding anniversary and stopped by this place. We had a stellar time. First the owner came out to show us around, seat us and take our order and ended up just hanging out with us and then her husband came over and he hung out with us to. They gave us a very cool explanation of their whining process which is both holistic and organic and also exclusively Texas! Turns out we knew some of the same people and they even let us help pick out a name for their next wine! Really liked all the wines we tasted and we also had the charcuterie board which was amazing. Highly recommend. I've been to a lot of Vineyards but I don't remember the last time I liked every single...
Read moreWe trekked over 80 miles to check out this winery. It was most definitely worth the trip. Kristi guided us through the tasting of her exceptional wines and educated us on the process and her philosophy on making and releasing the wine. It’s definitely working as each wine stands on its own and reflects the skill she has honed through her experience and internship. She made our time there fun and truly an adventure. The winery setting is pure Texas country, which we always appreciate. Will only get better as they expand the tasting room. We’re proud to call ourselves “outlaws” now as we joined the club. Looking forward to frequent visits in the future!!! Check it out, you’ll be...
