Las Lagunas de Anza Wetlands — Attraction in Nogales

This was an unexpected surprise during our recent trip. It's only a couple of blocks from the freeway so easy to get to (which also means you hear traffic noise). It has quite a few picnic tables in the shade, a bird blind, and several benches along the pathways. It's not a big area so would be ideal for taking children. We enjoyed bird watching and even saw a couple of frogs. I recommend it as a nice stop when headed north or south...

I was impressed with this little piece of nature in the city. It is very well maintained and is a nice place to pack a lunch and go for a little walk. I should have thought ahead and brought bug spray. My kids and I got pretty eaten up and left earlier than planned due to the nasty bugs. We didn't see any birds but it was near noon and I hear it is better at dawn or dusk. We will go back and next time, we will bring...

We were touring the area and decided to visit Las Lagunas. We were glad to have made the stop. This historic location was just another piece that was helpful in understanding the De Anza Trail and those that traveled on it. The area seems well taken care of. There is sufficient parking.
