If you like to camp then stay away from Patagonia state park. You can not sit outside past 9pm , no TV, no talking, at 9 PM it's quite time you cant even walk around i couldn't sit on the bank and fish past 9 PM unless you are going to the bathroom that's the information that the officer Abe Randolph stated. If you are sitting outside talking, watching TV, listening to music or just sitting outside in general and you don't take it inside the officer Abe Randolph will report you. My family and I were at kartchner caverns we sit outside talked , watched TV, was listening to music and no body bothered us it was a pleasurable experience. I mentioned that to that some what of a officer he stated if he was at that park things would be different rules are rules. On 6 / 29/2019 at around 8:51pm officer Abe Randolph stopped in front of my camping spot and sit in his white Ford truck the police truck had a driver's side broken brake light and it didn't work at all watching me closing everything up for the night. I felt that I was being harrassed by this officer. Then on the day we left we were waiting in line to empty our black and gray water tanks and officer Abe Randolph had a few smart comments to my wife but my wife would not tell me what he said to her because she knows how I am so I guess it was best she didn't tell me any thing. I can completely understand the quite thing but if your camping and you wanna watch TV, outside , listen to the radio, talk with your friends or your spouse and the noise is low then we should be able to do so. If I wanted to go in my rv to watch TV ect.... then I'll just stay home. I have done 20 1/2 years in law enforcement never have I seen a officer with a large ego like officer Abe Randolph. So as long as officer Abe Randolph is working at any state park my family and friends will never camp there again and think these parks should use some common sense and let people camp but keep the noise to a reasonable volume. I will be filing a formal complaint against Officer Abe Randolph and Arizona state park he really needs to know how to be a law enforcement officer. Instead he's a bully with a badge and gun. This park is a complete disgrace to the state of Arizona and he is making all the state employees look bad. I will go back to kartchner but if that officer Abe Randolph is working there and I found out he is there I will hook up a leave. I will call everytime before I register at any state park to see if officer Abe Randolph is working there. STAY AWAY FROM ARIZONA STATE PARK...

I go down to Patagonia to swim and paddle board about 3xs a week. Obviously, I enjoy the lake very much, but it's loosing a star for the absolute rudeness of both one of the rangers, who instead of making clear they were a ranger and needing to come pick up trash at a boat in site, just proceeded to almost fully run over me and another person, and the rudeness of so many people who just can't seem to grasp that they need to stay out of others peoples' already occupied day use or campsite areas. I go during the week, when it is not busy at all and there are plenty of open (unoccupied) places to enjoy the lake, but for some reason parents have thought it's ok to let their kids run in other people's camps and jump on their possessions, and other adults seem to think it's ok to just come sit inside someone else's private (and reserved) campground to drink or fish, despite being obviously already in use, and definitely not invited. Lastly people fishing are very rude. I swim across the lake repeatedly as well as paddle the whole circumference, but if I see people fishing, I avoid going near to avoid scaring fish. However, people fishing have absolutely no issue pulling up right next to me already in the water and swimming and casting out possibly hooking me or my board and making me have to move elsewhere instead of them just finding an unoccupied area to fish. It's a whole lake, there is plenty of room to enjoy all of it without making other people uncomfortable, if anyone cared about being respectful anymore. So the lake is good... But the people kinda ruin it on a...

My family and I are locals and enjoy coming here a few times each week. Lately, there have been many people who come and litter on the lake, casting boats from the swim area, even drinking/dumping beers in the lake. It’s absolutely horrible.

I notified the rangers the last time we were here and they took note. Today, I alerted a ranger nearby as ppl were ACTIVELY violating the signs/rules and he said “we do what we can” with no action on his part. The ppl cast their boat IN THE SWIM AREA right next to me and my kids- what if someone had been seriously injured?

They don’t check the lake shore where everyone swims. It’s a shame as people will continue to treat this beautiful area however they’d like because no one who actually works here does a thing to stop it.

There are signs everywhere but no one cares. What are the signs for?

So sad.

Also adding: ppl smoke and drink on the shore as well and leave their cigarette butts and cans there. I do pick them up but it’s because I can’t stand ppl treating our beautiful park like a toilet.

PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS. Rangers are checking the bathrooms at the shore periodically- is it too much to walk along the shore and check the ppl down there, too? It’s for our safety and our...

Really wonderful place to camp for a few day. We took our RV, $30 for a spot with electric and water is almost too good to be true. Everyone was friendly, there was a short walk to the beach as well as a short walk to the trail, both are absolute must to check out. This place made us forget that we were in the Arizona desert, absolutely green and gorgeous! Side not: HUGE shout out to the park rangers, some of the BEST! One morning our door didn't latch all the way and opened while my husband and I were napping, allowing our two cats and dogs to roam free through the park. Unbeknownst to us, the park rangers tracked them down, figured out who their owners were then safely returned all three of them. Again all the while my husband and I were asleep! The next day the rangers even came by to tell us all about their adventure across the park. Thanks to these rangers our fur babies were safe! From the stories told to us, sounds like they had quite the time exploring this park as well. Thank you all again!!

Biggest body of water available unless you go North near Phoenix. The bathrooms are finally up and running! (Ladies, please stop trying to flush your pads down the toilet). It's a nice lake to enjoy when it's not jam packed with people. Fun for fishing if you know what they'll eat here (finally figured a bit out and now we're moving states!). We caught and released so these boys are probably still out swimming. Kayaking was also very enjoyable. The only 2 negatives right now are that the park closes at 10pm. So if you are on a day pass, you'll get the boot. We enjoy night fishing :( and people seem to be living here. Have not seen the campgrounds open in months. The 2nd negative is that due to Covid they have a capacity limit. Once it's reached they do not accept entry. Which can be rough if you live further away than Patagonia or Nogales and spent an hour+ driving, to be turned around. We called ahead a few times but it was still hit or miss.
