The Connecticut Asia cultural center is well done. It has displays that explain Taoism, Buddhism, and Confucianism. Special Peruvian exhibition. A highlight is the tea ceremony.

I really wanted to learn, but I feel like some of the hosts were more interested in preaching than teaching and explaining. People will hand hold you from the moment you step in the building to the moment you leave. They will explain every exhibit with a practiced script. This is ok if I can read and comprehend what's written there with my own critical thinking. It was hard for me to critically evaluate philosophies and understand how to apply to day to day life, because they won't let me think, Everytime I was curious, I would be shut down. Just like the Confucian way, they had a proscriptive goal with everyone who is coming to the center. I don't know what that goal is (for me it felt like a indoctrination/ conversion goal). I am ok with being exposed to culture, not prescribed to one. But overall I was able to learn a few things beyond all their noise. Be ready to be walked through the entire place like you are a baby, but you will learn some interesting stuff.

I am not saying every host was like that: Joseph ( he was working Tao floor), he did a good job of evoking and responding to curiosity and answering my questions....

The Connecticut-Asia Cultural Center offers an enriching and enlightening experience. It not only provides comprehensive knowledge about Taoism, Christianity, Confucianism, and Inca culture, but also emphasizes the importance of love, kindness, and compassion toward others. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated and beautifully presented, offering deep insights into each tradition.

The staff were exceptionally warm, welcoming, and knowledgeable. They provided an engaging tour and took the time to answer our questions with patience and enthusiasm. Their hospitality truly made our visit special.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the center and left feeling inspired and uplifted. It’s a hidden gem that fosters cultural understanding, spiritual reflection, and a genuine sense of community. Highly recommended for anyone interested in exploring world cultures and values in a...

Had the best time at the Dragon boat festival over the weekend! Met so many wonderful people, had excellent meals, saw a Golden Dragon Dance!!! The exhibits caught me off guard with their profundity, Jonathan and Joseph were excellent guides, very well versed in every exhibit, they answered every question we had thoughtfully, clearly, and gently. The Tea and Health Seminars were very informative and intriguing, I walked away with fresh knowledge and exercise techniques that I have been sharing with my family. Then experiencing the Tea ceremony was powerful, those were the best 3 cups of tea I've ever had, walked away feeling so tranquil and harmonious, the art of serving Tea was presented to us in such a way that imparted a timeless and subtle wisdom, every movement of was serene and infused with spirit and prupose, with a sip I thought, "Is this what Enlightenment...
