Willoughby Beach — Attraction in Norfolk

Nervous to get this beach a 5-star view as it may end up becoming a very popular space for people. Especially during covid. We ended up coming down for a vacation down by Willoughby Beach and spent quite a few days there it was by far one of our favorite spots as there are not many people crowding beaches. Unlike other beaches like chics Beach, ocean view, or Virginia Beach that ended up being more crowded. We spent three to four days at this beach and what was wonderful is for most of those days it felt like we had the whole Beach to ourself. It was like a little Oasis away and is a beautiful spot. The water is awesome warm most days and lots of things to look for in the ocean we found a ton of hermit...

Loved taking the kids here. Little spot for the locals. Not crowded & a place sectioned out by the ocean where smaller kids can swim without worrying about undertow or waves pulling them out to sea, or jellyfish stings, etc. Nice & quiet place for the family to enjoy the beach. Bring a picnic basket & a blanket, maybe some cheetos to toss to the seagulls & relax with the family. Even a lifeguard came by on his four wheeler but one does not stay there so swim at your own risk, it is the ocean folks. But I love this little separate spot for the kids. Wish there were more like this cut out up & down the beach for kids...

This is a great place to go to the beach right outside the Hamptn Roads Bridge-tunnel. I used to drive from Newport News over to lay out & it’s much less crowded than Virginia Beach & not as far. I love it so much i actually moved to Willoughby a year ago. Although private homes along the beach there’s public access to the beach & parking.
