My visit to this lake was a result of being stuck on I-90 waiting for the pass to re-open. The view was pretty poor from the window of my truck. Looking forward to visiting the lake when the weather is better.
I am confused why this pass closes as much as it does. During my stay on the pass, the road conditions were slushy, with some standing water and a few icy spots.
There are restrictions put in place for people, yet it appears from the wrecked vehicles that no one heeds them. Enforcement is no where to be seen.
When they did open the pass it was like they opened the doors to a Black Friday sale with $1 televisions. Transportation planning should consider an improvement on metering vehicles back onto the roadway rather than flood it...

All summer! So you can't drive in and is a very long hike from the gate. To protect what..a man made irrigation lake for the Yakima valley? If the water is lower, you're driving further away from it last I checked.
They just want to restrict public access. There is too much bureaucracy in this state on...
