Trailhead on Pleasant Ridge Road is a parking lot holding maybe 15 cars. Lot is also the trailhead for Power House Trail (left) and Carter Falls Trail begins to the right. Combined, both trails are a one mile loop back to the lot. Very easy trail and great for families with children and seniors.

Several opportunities to get in the creek above Upper Falls. Lots of rock outcroppings. Some smaller, more gentle falls here above it. There is one optional, very steep, side trail that takes you down to the foot of the falls. Very rocky. Very slippery. Has rope to assist but the foot of upper falls is a great view and worth the descent. Easier coming up and back to the trail. Just beyond Upper Falls the trail switches over to Power House Trail and eventually back to the lot.

Nice quick hike to see falls and great for families or those wanting a quick trip for scenery without hiking...

The short hike to Carter Falls was well worth it! There was no one else there, so I had the beautiful view of the falls and variety of plant life all to myself. Everything was blooming and green, which made it especially more enchanting! I simply went to the falls and back (

Hiked the upper and lower falls trail with a 2 year old and 2 month old. Took about an hour round trip. Wasnt quite a full mile in distance. To the most part the hike was "easy," only steep in a few places but there were ropes in place to assist you along the trail. The falls were beautiful! We saw a bunch of monarch butterflies as well as a North...

The short hike to Carter Falls was well worth it! There was no one else there, so I had the beautiful view of the falls and variety of plant life all to myself. Everything was blooming and green, which made it especially more enchanting! I simply went to the falls and back (<1 mile total). As the map shows, though, you can combine this with the Powerhouse trail and/or Mountain to Sea trail for more mileage. I will note that there is one steep section down to the bottom of the falls. This would be challenging—but not impossible—for kids, elderly, and dogs. There is a leading rope to help with the steep descent
