Great area! I have hit every side of the trails. Rope swings, and lots of little swimming holes and private beaches to roo down in. A great place to take the kids and dogs for some fun river time. Only downside (and this is with every river or trail) there can be some inconsiderate non eco friendly people who will leave trash and fishing bait tubs everywhere. Nothing dangerous. Just not a pretty sight. I usually bring a bag with me to clean up stuff in...

Great park to go walking especially in the fall when the leaves are turning. There is plenty of free parking. You can loop around the ponds which is a wide flat dirt path. Very dog friendly. Usually there are people fishing along the pond as well. You can also cut into the woods and there is an inner path that goes through the woods. That path is much skinnier but still flat. But you have to watch your step a bit more with large rocks and tree roots...

I enjoy taking my grandchild here from time to time. It’s beautiful, uncrowded, has 2 baby swings, and the requisite ducks preferred by the baby. The walk down by the river fires my imagination and returns part of my childhood to me. We always leave feeling renewed. Needed some fresh air and a moment to walk on a summers hot day. It was a pleasant area to stroll with small ponds and the Swannanoa River on its border. Places to swim play with the kids bike and walk and see the mountains. Dog friendly with plenty of places to relax and sit. Worth a few minutes of attention in your day if you want to see the park and get out there for some fresh air.
