This place is absolutely the best. I went here several times as a kid. It is very dear to my heart. From hikes with naturalists every day--learning so much about the plants and the land, and going to places like the bald, polar bear falls, and the cave--to my first backpacking trips that gave me the backpacking bug, to all the awesome activities and the farm, to the dining hall antics like Oort Man and table banging, to the truly magical campfires and singing circles, and the lantern ceremony at the end of the session... oh and who can forget the giant trebuchet that shoots watermelons and soccer balls into the big pine tree til it looks like an oversized Christmas tree... Read moreI've been a camper at GRP for 4 years now. It has been amazing. I could not dream of any place better. There's no cell service, no wifi, no internet. You don't even think about that stuff. My good friend once worded it as "What I like about GRP is it's away from the false glow of technology" I wish I had her gift of words.
