If you are this close you need to visit the Hunger Games movie set location. Its about 5 minutes away. you can Google it. The Henry River Mill Village (or "District 12") a ghost town. Old planned community with its own textile mill, dam, water , and company store. The Textile mill would give out coins that were used at the company store. The Old Original buildings remain sited along a small gorge of the Henry River, about 75 miles east of Asheville, near Hildebran, NC. The abandoned homes are dangerous inside due to collapsing floors - so definitely just look from the outside! See many of the buildings along the road. (Exit 119 off I-40 - then go south about 1/2 mile to Henry River.)

Telling folks where to park will NEVER be a win for folks and finally, if you are supporting a tournament with all these people paying to be here, don’t insult our intelligence by wanting to start an hour later to “just let fields thaw out before we play on them. It’s Bermuda grass! I promise you won’t hurt its feelings or growing ability. Update: I don’t like folks that complain without solutions. So I would highly recommend at least ten portable toilets right at the base of the main toilets for tourneys. Second, let people park where they want and simply assist them with where more parking is located. And then of course, let people play at will on the fields. A tournament is ALWAYS on a time schedule, so don’t hold...
Read moreThis park is primarily a soccer complex. The sports fields are well groomed and maintained. I however, go to this park to walk my dog on the one mile paved walking trail. The trail is smooth with no trip hazards. On one side of the park the trail runs parallel with the Henry Fork River. The park is generally quiet and peaceful during the off season of soccer. There is a playground area for smaller children, horseshoe pits, and picnic tables at various locations around the trail. If you are lucky, you may see deer, hawks, or other wildlife on the back side...
