Lake Rogers Park — Attraction in North Carolina

Lake itself is very nice, fairly good size. No swimming but as a paddler I prefer it that way. The boat launch is okay, but the area directly next to the boat ramp has this awful huge stone gravel that will eat your hull... Be very cautious with setting in to the water. There's a nice pier walkway you can fish off of, that leads to a trail with some little fishing docks. There appears to be a massive goose problem so there is goose "waste" absolutely everywhere. I'm not sure why this is because Falls Lake (8 miles away) doesn't seem to have this problem. I hear rumors that the city is trying to develop around the lake which would be an absolute shame as it would destroy the ecosystem where you can count on seeing hawks, herons, turtles, fish and the overall natural beauty of it. Such a lovely little park. There's a children's playground, picnic tables, a concession stand, and restrooms. You can rent row or paddle boats. There are four short walking trails. I dont think the longest is over a half a mile. The orange route has some rough terrain but the others.are just nice walks through the woods. There is a pier for fishing near the parking lot. Then there's a boardwalk to a pavilion and the boardwalk extends to the hiking trails. In the area where the hiking trails are, there are four fishing platforms. A fellow was fishing and pulling in some decent size catches. You could spend however long you want...
