Madison River Park is an absolute gem and a must-visit for anyone in the area! I was thoroughly impressed by the variety of activities and the pristine condition of the facilities.
The great paved walking trail is perfect for a leisurely stroll or a brisk run, offering beautiful views of the river along the way. We spent a fantastic afternoon on the beach, where the kids splashed in the shallow water while we relaxed. The option for tubing down the river is a major plus and provides a thrilling way to cool off on a hot day. The park is also equipped with a generous number of picnic tables, which are perfect for a family lunch or a gathering with friends.
What really stood out to me was the thoughtful amenities. There are plenty of hammocks strung up in the shade, providing a serene spot to read a book or simply enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature.
The restrooms were clean and well-maintained, which is always a huge plus in a public park. Additionally, the ample parking made our visit stress-free, as we didn't have to worry about finding a spot even on a busy weekend. Whether you're looking for an active day out or a relaxing retreat, Madison River Park truly has it all. We will...
Read moreThey replaced the low dam at this park with a series of weirs recently so I went and checked it out in July & August of 2021. They've really created a nice section of river here. I went 3 times at weird work hours and there were always kayakers there in play boats playing in the currents. The weirs channel the river into the center so that there is still water here to play in even if all the other area rivers are too low. The launch is just before the weirs so you can get into them immediately or turn upstream if you are wanting to do an out and back. Nice concrete sidewalk, nice launch. I think that they were going for a sandy beach but the sand may be getting washed away. I hear that they are going to put in another swimming area in the future. Overall, I'm very impressed and anxious to get a kayak out on...
Read moreJust tried to go down today my friend cut his hand on the rocks and shortly after my river raft got cut by the rocks they put in at the begining. I got stuck between two rocks and pulled under. Do not recommend for children or really anyone right now. I've been going here for years and the work they've done has made it a lot more dangerous in the begining. If you go bring a back up tube and and wear life vest if only for the first part. I hate they messed with it. I'm really upset it was one of the best places to go and the need to fix something that wasn't broken...
