Spent last weekend at Outback ATV Park and had a blast! This was my first visit to the park and I must say that I have never been to a riding facility that offered an entire weekend of free riding and primitive camping ever! This past weekend was their annual back-to-school bash and they were accepting donations only unless you were staying on a campsite with hookups. Needless to say, there were a lot of people there but yet the park did not feel overly crowded. There are plenty of places to ride of various terrain types but only a few hill climbs if you are into that sort of thing. Lots of mud and loose dirt everywhere and I especially liked the wooded trails. They do have a shower facility but ran out of hot water with the large number of guests. No bathrooms that I could see other than porta-johns. They also have an area to wash down your machine before loading up and heading out. There is no trail map available but you cannot get lost as there are borders in every direction. As others have pointed out, the trails are mostly 2-way so you must proceed with caution when approaching curves, hills, etc. There were very few times that we had to pull over and allow someone to pass, even with the large crowd. It would be nice to see the trails marked but then again all you have to do is simply get out an explore =) One other thing I noticed was the abundance of empty beers cans along the trails. If there were any local ATV clubs looking to take on a project, a clean sweep of the park would be something good to take on as a club event. Anyhow, we will definitely be back for more fun rides at this facility!
UPDATE: We have visited the park over the last two weekends. Management has been working to maintain some of the trails that were previously impassable unless you had a lifted UTV. There were only a couple of trails where we couldn't find a way around some of the deeper holes. Several of the run-down travel trailers have been removed. Plenty of garbage cans placed throughout the park so responsible people can dispose of their garbage. Also liked that they have numerous porta-johns that were nice and clean, most with TP. The road into the park has been widened and is much smoother. It appears that they are working on a separate exit to make entering and leaving the park even easier. We like the improvements that management continues to make...
Read moreVary run down... MX track is not taken care of... trails have no sense of direction which creates a huge danger for head on collision in the tight corners in the woods... Trails not marked at all, no maps available, didn't know if I was riding on outback property or some farmers property. No boundaries marked.... Seems as if the land is just land and the trails are crested from customers finding their way around. Not like the employees or owner put any effort into routing good trails or good MX course...
This place is good if you have a UTV and are only looking to do random direction trail riding or something like random exploring or if you wanna ride your 4x4 through a mud puddle...
I see this place has potential but no real professional organization or development.
The front entrance said :"honesty box, $15 per rider with bike" so that was my first sign that I knew what I was getting into...
The positive remarks I can say is that this place could host hundreds of riders and trucks to park with RV or something like camping and riding or bonfire and bbq. Maybe a good place to host a bonfire party with ATV's included.
It seems beer was the #1 choice of beverage at this location.
Seen plenty of signs saying "no helmet=no ride" That's math problem confused me as I saw plenty of riders without helmets.
This place is a good place to ride if the better ATV parks are closed and you just need to ride no matter what. They are open 24/7.
Staff members are friendly and they do have...
Read moreFUN- great atmosphere. Busco's mudbash 2017 got cancelled so we came to outback. And I'm glad we did, we will definitely be coming back and it's a 5 hour drive for us. The owner and his wife were at the gate the whole time very friendly kept saying this is the people's park. A lot of trails to ride on for sport bikes big mudding atvs and side by sides There is mud and deep mud when you want it or you can easily go around it all and keep clean. Great place for kids or for someone who has been doing this forever.
Pros- lots of trails- plenty of parking- hot showers the mud doesn't cake on bad it falls off unlike Busco. Nice little beach area to cool off in as well
Cons- the "up-keep" is pretty bad. Nothing was cut where we parked was in a parking area he grass was knee high kinda annoying he MX track had trees growing out of it the drag strip was a complete mess. The length was nice and long but not kept up holding water rutted all up and no signs it would have been dangerous if it was decent enough to ride on Bc of people just getting on track while racing.
All in all we had a great time and will return Bc the trails were fun. Plenty of pros and cons anywhere you go. Recommend stay would be 1-3 days we stayed 4 days and 4 nights.
Everyone who we spoke with seemed to like outback just as much as busco if not more.
Thank...
