Great getaway! Very Secluded at Stoney Point. The mosquitoes are relentless! We used private parking with a fee at Heros Welcome General Store. (Super friendly folks at this establishment with plenty of supplies, souvenirs, and great food!). We used kayaks and, with permission, the boat launch across from the store. It took us about an hour to kayak across and around the island to get to our site. The fishing is great! Knight Island is open for hiking year-round and makes a great stopover for paddlers looking for a moderate to intense paddle trip (depending on the wind). Paddlers can launch at nearby Knight Point State Park (3.5-mile crossing each way; day use fee) or Hero’s Welcome in North Hero (2-mile crossing; launching fee). The sunrise and sunsets are amazing, and if you time it right, seeing a full moon is spectacular as well!

A lot of the parks are self service and have short trails in this part of Vermont. This park has the oldest maple trees I've ever seen

Great weekend spot to camp with friends. Rent a canoe from Northland Boat Shop for a 2 mile journey into the middle of lake Champlain. The campground is small, so the entire island can be yours! Be sure to take a stroll to the other side to check out views of...
