A Harrowing Experience: A Warning to All
On February 25th, 2025, what should have been a peaceful visit to the park turned into a nightmare that will forever haunt us. As we were enjoying a quiet afternoon, the serenity was shattered by the sound of gunfire erupting from the parking lot nearest to the playground. In an instant, bullets tore through the air, ripping through the playground with horrifying precision. The deafening sound of shots rang out as I shouted "shooter", snagging my kid and huddled for cover, barely escaping the deadly hail of gunfire.
Bullets zipped past us, narrowly missing multiple children who were also playing. The metal beams of the playground were hit, their sharp, metallic echoes ringing as the projectiles pinged off them. The park, once a peaceful area, was now a battlefield, littered with spent shells and shattered glass. Cars were torn apart—windows blown out, and vehicles riddled with bullets—while the screams of terrified families and individuals echoed in the chaos. It was a scene of utter devastation.
We managed to escape with our lives, but the trauma of that day is something we can never shake. This place, once a symbol of relaxation and joy, is now a memory tainted with violence and terror. We will never return, and we strongly urge others to think twice before stepping foot here. What happened here is a stark reminder that peace can shatter in an instant, and some places are no longer safe. Stay safe...and we should demand action...
Read moreIt's a pretty nice little park. The play grounds look pretty worn down but overall they are still good structures. I like how there were 2 different playsets; one for smaller kids and the other one for the larger kids. The large playset has some interesting theming to say the least and there are a few little deaign choice I don't much get with it either. One of the slides on the bigger play set has little bumps at the end I think to look like rocks? And the triple slide also has like weird patterns on them making the slide not entirely smooth. I don't know how it might feel to go down said slides as I didn't want to due to the abundance of cockroaches. I went at night and there were so many everywhere. I know it's practically inescapable when it comes to cockroaches at parks but holy moly. The parks likely very lovely to visit during the day, but not so much at night. Also it's placed like right next to the 215 and it gets a little loud with the cars and trucks that pass by so be weary of that, but overall I think this park is...
Read moreEverything is outside, there are no inside buildings. It's a huge place, with about 3 different styles of playgrounds, with lots of shaded party tables at each playgrounds. Oh, 4 playgrounds if you add the one by the baseball fields, which there are at least 2 of for sure, there could be more fields though, or they could be tennis courts. I only payed attention to the two baseball fields. It also has a water play area, a basketball court, and a dirty lake/pond. Which the last time I went to the park, I just went to the pond/lake and there was a soiled diaper between the rocks, plus lots of other garbage in the pond. But other than that the park is beautiful...
