Bought a 1/4 cow. It is not good, I am throwing it out.
Yes I would rather lose hundreds of dollars than eat this. I won't even give it to charity it is so bad.
It has a strong smell while cooking, not putrid, but not right, almost sickly. Once cooked for 8 hours the smell/ taste was still there, I managed to get a bite or 2 out of pure spite before I threw it out.
Thawed 4 more packs, all the same metallic sour smell, bad texture, blood clots, splatter and streaking in the fat, like they didn't even bled the cow. Cruel and unsanitary.
Emailed the farm offering to bring them a steak so they can know what happened, didn't ask for anything just wanted them to experience this too. After trying to blame me for unsafe food handling they decided to tell me that is just how their beef tastes.
