First thing to establish is that the ONLY reason we even HEARD of this place & decided to drive almost 2 HOURS is because of REGINA SPEKTOR - someone very important in mine & my fiance's lives - as she was performing HERE as part of her 2022 tour, but BY HERSELF 🥰 ! (no offense to Norah Jones). We didn't see the ENTIRE park because we wanted to get a good spot at The Pines Theater area where the events & concerts happen because we were among the EXTREMELY lucky ones to be able to enjoy the beauty, wonder & magic of Regina. INCREDIBLE VENUE. Very personal and friendly atmosphere, as far as Regina's show went. Got to experience some of the good side of humanity (yes, there IS actually SOME left) - shared some bug spray, good conversation, love for one of the most beautifully amazing singer/songwriter/musicians of all time #ReginaSpektor & plenty of tears! Would DEFINITELY recommend seeing ANY show you CAN here at The Pines Theater at Memorial Park. Bring low chairs or sheet/blanket if you're General Admission. Parking fee is $15. And NO outside food or beverage, but you can bring an empty refillable H20 bottle that you can fill for free as many times as needed. Planning to try to explore the REST of the features of Look Park 2moro after a (HOPEFULLY) good night's sleep in the historic Northampton Hotel, only about 10-15 minutes from the venue!! I'll let you know more soon!! WE LOVE YOU REGINA!!! THANK YOU FOR SUCH AN INCREDIBLE...
Read moreLook Park, consisting of over one hundred & fifty acres, is a gift to the City of Northampton from Mrs. Fannie Burr Look. She provided the land, funds for its development, and a trust fund to help with upkeep. It gets zero dollars from city taxes. A GREAT GIFT TO THE CITY.
It's a great place to walk; one circuit = one mile. Has mini-golf, picnic areas, pavilions, water spray park, pedal boats, steamer trains, tennis & pickleball, a small zoo, etc. There's many different types of areas: forested areas, open areas for sports, the lake and its water fowl. Many people have gotten married in Look Park using the largest pavilion for eating and having the vows exchanged in the Sanctuary of Willow Lake. There's also the Garden House for indoor celebrations; the Garden House puts up a large tent to extend their space to the outdoors. It's laid out so that different activities and environments don't get in each other's way.
It also has an outdoor amphitheater that seats about 2000 on the grass. Many great musical events have taken place there.
Some times an organization rents a large part of the park. For example there is the Glasgow Lands Scottish Festival which is the only Scottish Festival in Massachusetts, and the second largest one in New England.
It's beauty and serenity make it a popular...
