Read moreLabor Day in the green space had couples playing tennis, athletes bounding up and down the sled hill, couples holding hands on the shade, and everyone else walking, jogging, or rollerblading on the nicely paved path that makes a ribbon around and through the park.
Plenty of parking off Sanders Road, and a warm, family-friendly atmosphere makes the park a jewel in the Northbrook suburb. You do hear a bit of traffic from 294 as cars whizz by, but really that's only if you're on the south end of the hill flanking the highway.
I am not a fisherman, but I did see a number of poles going on the retention pond--not sure of their success, but looked fun.

Read moreWe visited today for a group run with my boxer partners as we were racially profiled by one of its workers. As we were stretching before we began our run, he came by us and circled around us, staring at us . I then asked him if he needed help and he dais no and waked away. Got on his phone, and shortly after, a punk up from the park district began following us during our run, and after noticing, we were running the left. This type of behavior is unexectable as they were plenty of people running and they single picked us out of everyone. Mind you, 2 of us are in the force. We will continue to do our runs here, but we will also report this and post this to make others aware. They need to focus their energy...
