Read moreThis WAS a good park until they ruined it. Here we have another classic case of someone trying to fix something that wasn't broken to begin with. I hadn't been here for awhile and when I went back was disappointed that a park that once had a two lane road you could drive through and freely move to and from any area of the park was now turned into one a way street through the whole park. You want to go a certain way but can't because it's now a one way street and your directed all the way out of the park and down the road a few miles to then enter the park again in a different entrance and as your cruising in the park DONT miss your spot you wanted to go because if you miss your spot now there is no turning around in another parking lot and going back because of this, now you will have to go one way all the way to the end of the park , leave the park and then go a few miles down the road and return to the park via the entrance on the other side. What they did here was took half of the road and installed white metal posts in the middle of the road going all the way down the road and using the other side of the road for people to walk on instead of putting in a sidewalk or trail along the roadside they literally just took half of the road and turned a fully functional 2 lane road that could easily get you to or from anywhere into the park into a useless difficult one way road through the whole...
Read moreI have loved this park since I was small. I even worked here in the summer of 2000 as a seasonal maintenance worker. It was a tough job, but had many priceless perks ☺️ Always well maintained, trust me, we scrubbed out those porta johns every morning 😝**I guess I should add a few things about it to make it a proper review? It has 2 beautiful walking trails. Chippewa trail has a beautiful historical barn. And 1 nice long bridle trail. Many ponds, and a large lake that you can fish in. The lake has 2 docks, one observation dock, and one floating dock for fishing and boat rentals. They also sell bait. On the other end of the lake there's a bath house with lifeguards and changing rooms for swimming. A Pavilion you can rent for gatherings, as well as many other smaller picking areas with grills (including the beach area where swimming is). Bathrooms and parking, and events and activities throughout the year. My favorite, the fall family outing where they have free hayrides through the park and many...
