Lake Colchester is a wonderful lake with numerous amenities. It is nestled within the quiet neighborhood of Lakewood. The lake, parks, etc., are maintained via assessments by Lakewood residents. As the current President of the Lakewood Village Association, I am thankful for the residents of Lakewood and the wonderful way they take care of the Lake and surrounding amenities. I would like to take this time to make a correction to a review of Lake Colchester contributed by Mr. Bradley Dougherty. In his review he wrote, “Lakewood HOA does not own Lake Colchester”. It is unfortunate that Mr. Dougherty posted this inaccurate information along with other inaccurate information. Read moreContrary to other comments. The Lakewood HOA does not own Lake Colechester. They control access to almost all the land around the lake. Except the bridge on Beardsley, and the corresponding public easement on either side of said bridge. Although it is not enough space to put in a speed boat, technically anyone can fish off the bridge, put a canoe or kayak in the water by the bridge, or access the lake for ice fishing during the winter via said public easement.

Read moreWe love living at the lake! It's beautiful here, sunsets are sometimes spectacular, and my boys love the beach. There are a lot of fishermen, but still decent fish. You have to hunt for em, but we've seen people pull some good size fish out of the lake. It's really nice having a private lake for the family to enjoy.
