It is quick to get to from Des Moines or wartren county. ALmost entirely shaded during your walk. If it has rained in the last 2 days it will be quite muddy and slick in some of the path areas. I recommend a good hiking boot or heavy duty tennis shoe. Lots of steps made of wood and some are not flat and may make you unsteady. It is a pretty area. In the middle near the creek bed, which was dry except the very extreme north edge, had a cool little timber lean too made in the shape of a teepee. I called it Big Foots House. Fairly steep most of the walk. only a few wild flowers in bloom. It was 92 outside but it was comfrotable in all the shaded woods. It took around 30-45 minutes by the time we goofed around with selfies and enjoying the bird sounds, Suspension bridge is cool and fun. A fun afternoon get away. Nice picnic area above the parking lot. 2-3 table to eat at and a big fire pit. You need bug spray as the mesquitos are pretty thick. I recommend this place. iIn good weather. I clocked it with my GPS and the trail is .5 mile long. There's no trail map, but you can't get lost. There's just one trail and it's well kept. Great for little kids. Hardly worth the drive for adult hiking unless you want to see the bridge.
