Several narrow, winding trails forming two loops of easy hikes, taking approximately an hour each. Pretty views of hills, especially at sunset. In spring, the fields are covered with wild flowers. Usually not crowded, at least not in the early evening. Dogs need to be kept on a leash.

Nice spot for a hike, trails aren't very long but they are beautiful. If you go in the evening you'll see lots of namesake deer. Right on the edge of the wetlands with many shorebirds to view. It's my go-to spot for a short hike when driving between Sonoma County and the Bay area.

Short on time but you want to get in a decent hike. The Deer Island Loop is your hike. Nice vista's of the Novato ridgeline; especially as the sun sets to the west. The wildlife, well, I saw not one Great Horne Owl 🦉 but two🦉🦉 in the same tree - what a hoot 😉.

Take a beautiful walk or run around the island. Yes, there are many deer seen here. Very pretty during the time of year when all is green and lush and verdant. Parking is available but lock your car and take valuables with you or leave at home. Personally never had an issue but always lock your car anyway. Bring a backpack, some water, headphones, and or enjoy the quiet sounds of nature while enjoying the beautiful views. During summer have seen rattlesnakes on the path so keep in mind when choosing shorts/shoes and just be careful. Can go around on a circular path or hike uphill to the trees. People are friendly and have met cool people here. Who isn't in a good mood while breathing in fresh air and just being outside? A great place for adults and kids of course. Children around 4 tire out, at least mine do and we don't make it around without me usually carrying them back to the car. But a great place to blow off steam! I enjoy a run alone or a walk to clear my head. A true hidden...

Tick Island... Nice round about to walk, but it has far too many ticks. Not really safe for humans or dogs. Both times I left here I pulled multiple ticks off of myself. This past time? 8 ticks. Not sure if there's ok times of the year and not ok times for the ticks... The trail is also very thin, so your brushing up against the grass the entire walk. Wanna give 5 stars but just way too big of...

Quick loop hike. Well marked and easy to walk. Fairly easy to hike. Shaded areas on the left . Overall about 2 miles. Not much uphill or downhill. Mostly flat except the side trails that you can use for extra exercise. Dog and kid friendly area. Plenty of free parking available right at...
