The beach itself is clean and beautiful. There’s a great view of the city and Diamond Head. You can also watch the air traffic coming into the airport out over the ocean. Sunsets are especially nice here, so are early mornings. There’s usually a couple of fisherman set up and occasionally some surfers. There’s a basketball court, a large field, small playground and what looks to be a run down facility for possibly bathrooms and outdoor showers. Every time I’ve come here there are homeless people camped out under the facility shelter with a whole setup next to the showers. Occasionally I smell a urine odor in the air. I haven’t gone over there because it looks sketchy and I am unsure of the situation going on. There’s about 5 picnic tables back near the grassy area and plenty of beach to share. This place is never crowded on the weekdays and it’s more of a local hangout which is nice for a change. It could use a little sprucing up but for what it is it’s nice and quaint. Parking lot seems safe, although it’s at the dead end of a road and occasionally I see tall piles of trash dumped by the road. Hope...

The beach rivals others around the island with its soft sand and beautiful blue waters. With great chances of seeing a few sea turtles, the beach alone is reason enough to come here... it's the beach park that sets it apart from the others. It's a great place for parties and family gatherings... There are bathrooms, which is always nice. There is a good sized concrete pavilion with tables and a small stage and its all covered for good measure. There is a playground to keep the little ones busy. There is grass growing to every edge of the huge lot so if the pavilion isn't your thing there is plenty of space to set up somewhere else... in fact, there is enough space to accommodate multiple large parties without being so close that the music from one interrupts the music from the other. There is even a beachside basketball court. If you can't find what you're looking for here then I just don't think what you're looking for can be...

Pu'uloa is in Ewa and honestly it's not a bad beach. It's only a ten minute drive from my sister's house, so it's a good option if we just want to chill at the beach, but don't want to make a whole day of it and drive 45 minutes to a more popular beach. You get to avoid all of the beach/city traffic, and all of the tourists (even though I am one myself). There was pretty much no one around on a Tuesday at around 10. Plus you get a view of Diamondhead waaaaaay in the distance.

The sand is okay. It's not Kailua/Lanikai soft but definitely a lot cleaner than Waikiki. The water is not really good for swimming since there is a lot of coral out in front. Even with the coral, the waves are pretty rough.

Not my first option for a beach on O'ahu but if you live nearby, this requires minimal effort. There's also bathroom facilities, basketball courts, and...

Beautiful large park! Huge flat grassy area. Great for some outdoor game fun with family. Grass goes right up to the beach. When I went the shore did slope at about a 45 degree angle. Is dog friendly. There were bathrooms I think but there was a decent number of homeless in that area. I didn't go to that side. No problems being there alone as a female. Everyone I did speak to was very nice and all smiles. The dog had fun playing at the shore and we dried off in grassy area with picnic table.

A pretty decent beach park popular with locals and visitors alike. Plenty of room to find your spot on the beach and there are shower/bathroom areas here as well. This beach isn't the greatest for swimming/wading because the sand in the water is very "corally" and there are rocks relatively shallow. This place however is great for hanging out and catching sun and perhaps body boarding and surfing. Great view of Honolulu across the water to be had here too!
