I have to say that my whole experience in Hawaii for two weeks was a wonderful experience. Im not guilty, to say I actually came to visit his beautiful island of a Oahu Hawaii during the Covid 19. There are some steps you need to take according to Hawaiian government in order for you to bypass quarantine. You have to take a Covid test within the network of trusted Clinic that you can check on Hawaii Government website. Do you have to take the exam 3 days and no more prior to boarding the plane. And everything needs to be downloaded into their website. That was two piece of cake. Another thing I want to add is that the airport at Hawaii is completely desolate. In other words, no other stores are open none of the Starbucks or any of the food restaurants are open. That's in order to complete the stay safe away from any spreading of the virus. So now how about Waimea Falls, it is a very beautiful Serene place to visit. It's $20 to get in during this time. And I'm not sure what the regular price is. But it's worth it it's about a half mile hike to the falls. And once you there you can actually go swimming. I came during a time when the waterfalls are actually heavy due to the Heavy Rain recently in Hawaii. Overall my experience was very good. The people that are friendly. And there wasn't that many people. However, there was futurist. Enough to keep the place open. Thank you so much for a wonderful time. Hope to see you guys very...
Read moreThis is a beautiful hike up a relatively slow incline. My 3 year old could do it with only a few breaks. There are many benches provided along the way. There is a tram but at $10 and it only comes every 30-minutes, I did not think it was worth it. The path is paved making it stroller/wheelchair friendly, although again, there are inclines. My kids enjoyed seeing the recreated village. There are changing areas at the falls (if you want to swim) as well as a restroom. You can rent lockers for $10 to store your stuff. The life vests are required and included in your admission. The lifeguards and locker storage attendant do requests tips, so be sure to bring a few extra bucks. Swimming at the falls was really fun. We got some great pics (pro tip, bring your waterproof phone case to get pics by the waterfall!) It was a nice cool down after the hot walk up. A few cons, parking can be difficult to find (like everywhere). We did find a spot at the beach parking lot. The life vests smell horrible (like strong BO), are not cleaned at all, and covered in mold. The restaurant is not open with park hours. When we were done and hungry, there were no options. There are rocks, so getting in and out can be a bit tricky. If you have water shoes, bring them. If not, don’t bother buying them but know it’ll take you a little extra time. Overall, we...
Read moreWe really enjoyed our visit to the botanical gardens and educational exhibits at the park leading us to the reward at the end, swimming in the pool of the waterfall! We did arrive late in the afternoon, quickly bypassed the gift shops, drink spots and shave ice stand route to the waterfall. There were many signs and plant markers as well as exhibits to learn of ancient traditions and the area’s history along the hike to the falls. We stopped and admired the blooms and beauty, every where we looked. And the sweet scents of the various flowers were heavenly. The hike, if not stopping takes 45 minutes, we had to wait a few minutes to get life vests, and were eager to cool off in the fresh mountain run off. At first the pool was quite busy and wall to wall people, but our timing proved to be on our side and soon enough it was only us, two other tourists and the 2 lifeguards. Absolutely the most amazing time ever!! We offered to photograph the other couple, and they made a cute video of us (at our request of course) as we were leaving. To be able to swim without hundreds of people was such a treat, as they say, “ timing is everything” Take only memories and leave nothing...
