If you think the customer service is bad when you are making a purchase at this store, then do not accept any contract work from this company either. Menards approached us 2 weeks prior to this O'Fallon location opening for some body repairs on one of their contractor trucks. They requested the vehicle back in time for the Grand Opening, and we obliged. BIG MISTAKE! It has been 90 days and I still haven't been able to collect on this repair. First, they were to issue a credit card payment, then they had to submit it to corporate, then corporate rejected it but the store did not contact us... etc., etc. After being given the run around for 45 days, I went to the store with the intentions of speaking with a manager. What I got was some self important, extremely rude, liar of a boy named Matt, who claimed to be the Store Manager, even though I knew better. He talked down to me, tried to make me feel like I was in the wrong for coming to the store, and I ended up leaving there with a completely solid opinion of Menards. This jerk "promised" to look into the matter and let me know by the end of the day, but like I mentioned earlier, he is a liar. He avoided us and put us off for another 3 weeks, claiming that he had submitted all paperwork to their corporate office and was awaiting reply. A little over a week ago, I was finally able to obtain a phone number for the corporate office, which some of you may already know is not an easy feat, and spoke to someone in the Accounts Payable department who told me they had not heard anything from the store since they first rejected it! Matt and the other employees at the store had been lying the entire time, even before I went in there! I even spoke to the actual Store Manager, Paul, but he knew nothing of the situation or even the processes of his company, and blindly supported his employees without doing any research into the situation! I feel for the good people at this store, who complain openly about management like Matt, who thinks he is just God's gift to retail. This company is highly disorganized and it's policies border on the immoral. I was just told that paperwork was not submitted until YESTERDAY and that since checks are cut on Thursdays (today) and they don't even have approval yet, we likely wouldn't get paid until at least next week.
As they say, hindsight is 20/20... maybe I should have never allowed the vehicle to leave our property without payment in full, even though this is the first account we have had a payment issue with. I do know one thing, I will NEVER spend one dime of my own or anyone else's money at a Menards store. I only wish I had done a Google search on this company before I agreed to work with them, as they have a HORRIBLE customer service track record! Do yourself a favor and continue shopping at Home Depot or Lowe's and don't waste your time at this store! You will regret it...

Read morePoor customer service on 10/20/2022 from Jeffrey (Order Pickup) and Jake L. (Plumbing)
I came into Menards on 10/20 to pick up 2” schedule 40 PVC, but when I got to the shelf it was empty. Jim S. In plumbing saw that I needed help so he offered to write a pick ticket for the pipe so I could just drive around back and grab it. I checked out and went around back to grab the pipe at order pickup and was told by Jeffrey that the pipe I purchased was self serve, but that he would call plumbing to have the pipe brought out. I waited for 30 minutes with no update before I ran out of time and had to leave. I called Jeffrey when I left to see what was going on and he said he had no idea. I was surprised to hear that since he was the one coordinating efforts to get the pipe, so I asked if he could go ahead and see what was happening with it and get everything gathered for me to pick up in about an hour. Jeffrey said he wasn’t going to do anything about it because it wasn’t his department and told me to call plumbing if I wanted anymore help. I told him to transfer me to a manager and I was transferred to Jake L. In plumbing who I believe is an assistant manager for that area. Jake was aware of the situation and told me to go inside and grab the pipe myself since it was self serve. I reminded him that I couldn’t grab the pipe because the shelf wasn’t stocked and that I was sent to order pickup because of that. Jake said he would stock the shelf so I could grab them and I asked if he would set mine aside so I could pick them up when I drove back to the store and he said no, that he would just stock the shelves and that if I wanted them I could go get them myself. He then hung up on me. I immediately called for a manager and spoke with Brynn W. Who resolved the issue quickly. He took time to gather the pipe and have it ready for me to pick up. If it wasn’t for him, I wouldn’t return to Menards, but I hope this issue is considered when Jeffrey and Jake L. are up for promotions. They are unwilling to take ownership of store issues and provide poor/unprofessional...
