Walking to Waimea Falls was so pretty seeing all the beautiful greenery and flowers. Baby boy even got to run around a big open field right before the falls as leaves were falling down all around us from the trees. It was so magical #hawaii #vacation #travel #family #beach #toddler #momtok #waterfall #hike

I have to say that my whole experience in Hawaii for two weeks was a wonderful experience. Im not guilty, to say I actually came to visit his beautiful island of a Oahu Hawaii during the Covid 19. There are some steps you need to take according to Hawaiian government in order for you to bypass quarantine. You have to take a Covid test within the network of trusted Clinic that you can check on Hawaii Government website. Do you have to take the exam 3 days and no more prior to boarding the plane. And everything needs to be downloaded into their website. That was two piece of cake. Another thing I want to add is that the airport at Hawaii is completely desolate. In other words, no other stores are open none of the Starbucks or any of the food restaurants are open. That's in order to complete the stay safe away from any spreading of the virus. So now how about Waimea Falls, it is a very beautiful Serene place to visit. It's $20 to get in during this time. And I'm not sure what the regular price is. But it's worth it it's about a half mile hike to the falls. And once you there you can actually go swimming. I came during a time when the waterfalls are actually heavy due to the Heavy Rain recently in Hawaii. Overall my experience was very good. The people that are friendly. And there wasn't that many people. However, there was futurist. Enough to keep the place open. Thank you so much for a wonderful time. Hope to see you guys very soon thank you.

WARNING: this is NOT the right location. Google for Waimea Valley and it will take you to the right one. Tips: 0. WHAT TO TAKE: You don’t need hiking shoes for it, you will be fine with sneakers or swimming shoes (you will need them for the waterfall). A little slippery when arriving to the waterfall. If everyone in your group is planning to shower, don’t take to many things. There are lockers at a cost. 1. THE HIKE: is paved and easy. It has some inclination and is easy for electric scooter and strollers. 2. TIME: Plan to spend at least 2-3 hours here. Is about 30min if you walk straight to the waterfall but I suggest taking all the little routes and just enjoy 3. COST: The entrance for tourists is 20$. Cash or card is accepted. This is also why I suggest to spend a good time in it 4. WATERFALL: the access to the actually waterfall is complicated for people with special needs. The water is cold but you will get use to it. There is a lot of rocks to access it, so if you are sensible, consider taking swim shoes

Top quality experience for Waimea Falls! 10 out of 10 activity; a MUST on your list when in the North Shore, or even Oahu overall. Yes, you do have to walk a bit up to the Falls. However, you can pay for a shuttle to get you up if needed ($10 on way or double for round trip). There are plenty of lifeguards on duty all the time, so you never need to worry about safety. Life jackets are given to all patrons before entering the water; lifeguards will give you the size that best fits your body. Leave your stuff on the steps under the canopies or go to the right and there is a small locker system to rent. You can get right up under the falls; good luck swimming up to it head on:). Do stay away from the left side of the pool due to falling rock hazard (more precautionary than anything). Water is of course colder, but so refreshing on a hot day. No time limit once you are in the water so have fun, take some great pictures, and just relax for a moment and soak it all in.

The scenery is beautiful, the flora is amazing (unique trees, shrubs and flowers). Parking is convenient, and the visitor center building is very good. The food options are mostly greasy, spicy, salty, unhealthy stuff. They do provide a drinking fountain, so at least you don't have to buy drinks. The main issue is the admission prices, way too high: close to $100 for a family of 5, for a very short visit. They offer a shuttle for those who can't walk the 3/4 mile from the entrance to the waterfall, and that costs $10 pp 🤔 The waterfall and creak were disappointing in late August, waterflow was minimal. The pool near the waterfall was quite crowded, and everyone was required to wear life vests which were provided on site, by two staff members who were collecting tips, as if the entrance fee wasn't high enough. Overall- beautiful botanical garden, nice visitor center, pleasant experience at the waterfall pool, but not as affordable as it should be.
