I recently visited Bender Park in Milwaukee County and was thoroughly disappointed. Despite its beautiful beach, the park is poorly maintained with large amounts of trash scattered around. The atmosphere, which should be family-friendly, is ruined by the presence of motorcycles and cars doing burnouts and drifting, accompanied by loud music blaring from scooters. It seems like some families are trying to enjoy their time, but the chaotic environment makes it difficult.
Compared to the park maintained by the city of Oak Creek on top of the bluff, Bender Park falls short. My evening was overshadowed by witnessing motorcycle hijinks, wheelies, stunt driving, and other disruptive behavior. The situation only improved when the Oak Creek police showed up, causing several cars and motorcycles to leave immediately.
Bender Park has potential, but it desperately needs better upkeep and more effective policing by Milwaukee County to create a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. Until then, I cannot recommend it for a...

While it is a nice park, I prefer Lake Vista Park, which is located directly next door to the north. If I visit Bender Park in the evening, I've noted on multiple visits that certain drivers tend to speed recklessly through the parking lot. Read moreThis used to be a little known place and always nice and quiet. You can go sit on the rocks and just be near the lake. Now there is so much development that it isn't the same, but I still love it and feel much more safe going there with more ppl around. The only thing is that I wish there were more cops around.
