SUMMARY - Go on a clear day, that's not crowded, and either bring your discovery pass or $10, you will not be disappointed! Whether you like the thrill of heights, the challenge of going up a steep trail, or walking along a peaceful beach, there's something here for everyone.
PROS - I loved walking across the bridge and being able to look out for miles. The view at the top of goose rock was also fantastic. The trail leading up there was full of giant pine trees and delightful wildflowers, and very well maintained. The North Beach was calming because the smooth stones made a satisfying sound underfoot and as they were being rolled around by the waves.
"CONS" - (More like a list of things to be aware of.) Parking appeared to be limited, and costs $10 for the day, unless you have a year-round discovery pass, which is $30. The bridge is not for the faint of heart. It's windy up there, it's obviously very high up, And there is not a lot of sidewalk, meaning when a car drives by you feel the wind and you feel the vibrations of the bridge. The trail to the top of goose Rock is quite steep, so take your time if you are not accustomed to those kind of incline.
NOTES - I visited the day after Memorial Day, May 31st 2022, and as you can see from the pictures it was a clear day. Optimal for experiencing this wonderful place, in my opinion. I am not afraid of heights, and I am an experienced hiker so the incline was not a...
Read more🏕️ 10/10: Every 4th of July. Me and many ICF friends will come here for a wonderful pinice! And same as this year but it was just TOO beautiful! The weather today was so pretty, very sunny, warm and I couldn't even see a piece of cloud. It almost feel like we are in Wyoming under this great blue sky. There is a hiking trail that leads you to a cliff so you can look out at the ocean. There are many areas for picnic and BBQ! And I must say this place is the bst for a hammock hang out because there are so many trees so you can put your hammock up and enjoy a nice relaxing afternoon under the sun.
The warm summer breeze from the ocean was incredibly refreshing, rejuvenating us after a long week. The well-maintained walking path made the walk enjoyable at a comfortable pace. We captured some stunning pictures of the sunset that will be cherished memories.
Many are also paddle boarding, kayaking and swimming in the puget sound! How great and the water feels amazing in July! I will be sure to come back here next year and I am already looking forward...
Read moreMy son suggested that it was a great place to see and boy was he right. It is absolutely gorgeous and the colors were beautiful. While walking across the bridge from the paid parking area we saw so many things to take pictures of it made it hard to decide. There are actually 2 bridges to cross and at the end of the second bridge is where we saw sealions playing. It was so neat and I really enjoyed seeing them. Some of the drawbacks that I saw was that the bridge walkways are somewhat narrow, it made crossing with a wheelchair and a stroller a little difficult. We managed, but it was a difficulty. Also the stairs do not have any type of handicapped accessibility. My husband wanted to at least go under the bridges and take some pictures, but because of no ramp access he couldn't do it. I don't know if that is something that could be done, but it could be something to be looked into and possibly planned. I know that wheelchairs can't and shouldn't be able to go everywhere in the woods, but they should be able to go from one side of the bridge...
